Really! Are you sure..... I purchased a readily available full exhaust system and it didn't cost me $2000.Drnick wrote: Fri Apr 26, 2019 9:53 pm Well the mod is almost done, decat pipe is well made, and somewhat of a thicker gauge then what I expected, removing
Cat ( on bike!) was not fun! And removing cat material in collector was even more fun! Quite frankly if there was an aftermarket full exhaust easily available, I would have gone that route.

Do tell. I already made the mistake of the Akrapovic slip on. I really like the idea of fixing it with a 200 dollar part. I am serious considering this mod.Drnick wrote: Fri Apr 26, 2019 9:53 pm Well the mod is almost done, decat pipe is well made, and somewhat of a thicker gauge then what I expected, removing

Re: de cat
Well now I get to do it all again just bought the H2 SX SE + to replace the SX SE I remapped and removed the exhaust valve and cat on. At this rate I'll be an expert on the procedure lolDrnick wrote: Fri Apr 26, 2019 9:53 pm Well the mod is almost done, decat pipe is well made, and somewhat of a thicker gauge then what I expected, removing

Re: de cat
Just finished install, no codes so far, not much louder, which surprised me,will have local dyno shop check for AFR,What is the difference between the two (sxse & sxse+)?

Active suspension, Brembo Brakes and phone app connectivity. And color.

Re: de cat
With a supercharger this can be endless. x) More boost more power.Snakes709 wrote: Thu Apr 18, 2019 2:23 amThere isnt much of a risk going up 500 rpm. Hell brocks goes up 800rpm. Kawasaki always lowers the rpm from what the bike can handle. What im more curious about is where does the power stop. Every dyno i have seen, the power never drops, even with brocks raising it to 13300rpm.Dragonmaster wrote: Wed Apr 17, 2019 10:44 pmSince the de cat had the bike back at the tuning shop in UK. Now have 226 HP (wheel) thats without raising the stock rev limit on the bike.Zdude wrote: Mon Apr 15, 2019 1:42 pm I believe the reason nobody had done the cat removal yet is because the link pipe to replace that section just became available from MTC. Plus the discovery that the ZX10 headers can be utilized thus affording an in-expensive alternative to a slowly developing aftermarket complete system. As of right now the only aftermarket system is Vandomine which is expensive and the exhaust canister doesn't appeal to all, at least it doesn't to me anyway. Now the kit Vcyclenut put together is a very attractive alternative and at least from his dyno charts shows higher HP and torque than a full Vandomine at less than half the cost! I will most likely do the de-cat alteration but I'm not in a hurry and want to ride more than wrench right now.
Yes if you lift the rev limit to 13000 rpm from stock 12500 rpm you can get 230+ HP but chances are your supercharger or motor will go bang.
Bike is running / breathing much better and is much lighter thanks to cat, exhaust valve removal.
Mine is set at 13050. Never spend more than 2 sec at this rpm anyway. And my tuner make it run rich just after peak power for safety.

Re: de cat
Blown engine ? Never heard of that. The engine can handle way more. But yeah, too much advance or too lean can fuck your engine. We stay at 12,5 AFR and keep the timing safe in case of bad quality fuel.Dragonmaster wrote: Wed Apr 24, 2019 5:26 am Mmmmm not sure what "much of a risk" is there have been a few bikes here in the UK that have blown the motor due to too aggressive maps.
Also not sure what the point of all the power right at the top end is as this isn't really how this kind of bike is ridden. 240 BHP might make good bragging rights down the pub but do we really ride a 260kg sports touring bike bouncing off the limiter at 13,000 rpm?

Re: de cat
Our very own Vcyclenut. For a little over $500 he's pieced together an excellent setup. I purchased it and it comes with everything to install and the bike is just a BEAST to ride with his setup, check it out in the Vendor section.Drnick wrote: Sun Apr 28, 2019 1:21 amOk from where? The muffler with the baffle removed is still pretty quiet and I personally like it but it may not be loud enough for some.

Re: de cat
Yes that looks like a great deal, I decided to keep stock header
And just using a Decat midpipe, I really didn’t want to remove radiator and the header from bike, as I thought cutting cat off and removing what was left of remaining cat material inside collector would be easy and less laborious on bike! WRONG!
We what I know now, I’d go with the used header from vcyclenut!
