57x, I don't think any welding will be required, just cutting the cat off and the new "mid-pipe" would be a slip fit with clamp. At least that's the way it looks to me, if welding is required to attach it than I would certainly remove the header to do that.

Zlude, maybe a sawzall would be better then a cutting wheel, and personally, I was considering same ,cut cat,add midpipe, and use a proper band clamp to attach, ive done this to many high end bikes,I would go with a complete aftermarket market exhaust, but there none to be had,and as far as using a used ZX10 exhaust 🤔,other then a salvage yard, where do u acquire one🤨

Drnick, Brock's exhaust should be available in a month or 2. However, I believe Vcyclenut has stockpiled some ZX10 exhaust to use in his kit that comes complete but he might sell the headers only. I kind of like the idea of not taking the stock header off if possible, never had an exhaust leak on stock headers but sure have with aftermarket. At any rate, I'll probably do this next winter if at all.

Ebay, I got lucky and found one 30min from where I live for $60.

I went to pick it up in person instead of having it delivered.

I don’t think there is any used headers within 100 miles of me,( I’ve searched),and I would consider vandemon but there way overpriced, and quite honestly,if I can find a simple midpipe that would work with stock header (cat removed),and a yosh alpha slip on,that would be the way to go! Unless Brock finally makes an exhaust!!!!

Fitted this exact same de cat pipe today managed to cut the exhaust valve box off without removing the header from the bike. Used a Black and Decker reciprocating saw with a metal cutting blade, tread carefully though not much room between the pipe and the sump.

The link pipe works fine with both the stock silencer and the Akrapovic performance edition can. Not sure why anyone would be keeping the standard can though.

When you cut the exhaust box off you are still left with the cat sat inside the first 2-3 inches of the header where you made the cut. To remove this I used an electric drill with a hole saw and spent a good 20-30 mins drilling and grinding all the cat material away. I left the outer ring of the cat inside the pipe as its not doing any harm and will be difficult to remove without damaging your header pipe.

Pics of tools used, header cut after removing the internal cat and finished bike now cat free.

Now sounds great but will have to head back to Jordan Bikes for an adjustment to the map otherwise I'll be running too lean.
