Seat Woes
Seat Woes
Hi all
I’m a new owner (H2 SX SE) from HAMPSHIRE in (UK).
Has anyone worked out the best way to raise the front of the seat so it doesn’t push you forward towards the tank? Other bikes (BMW eg) have built in adjustment. I can’t believe Kawasaki don’t build in some kind of riser as standard.
Any help/thoughts greatly received.

Check out this link to a post I started. I ended up sending my SE seat to Sargent to be modified and am very happy with the results.

Re: Seat Woes
There's no adjustment, but that would be a nice feature. A workaround is to have the seat redone. See the seat thread:

I had Sargent redo my seat this winter and had them raise the nose. The roads are still to salt covered to ride here, so I haven't gotten a chance to try it, but I have a bad feeling that I didn't have them raise the nose enough.

Re: Seat Woes
Saw the Sargent posts. That’s an option but will take ages as I’m in (UK).
I looked at the bracket that secures the front of the seat and wondered if anyone had tried to modify that?

Re: Seat Woes
Seems like another forum member had their seat done by Sargent in the UK--they took care of sending it off to the their US office since they don't modify seats in the UK.

Yes, they just emailed me. They are looking to produce a stock seat but it won’t be available until Autumn.

Re: Seat Woes
I had to do something about the OEM seat--I couldn't ride the bike more than 40 miles without severe pain and would have gotten rid of the bike if I couldn't find an aftermarket solution now.

Re: Seat Woes
Well here it is. i sent it off to Sargent in the USA through their agent here, a company called Calamander Ltd. it was away for a bout 3 weeks in total, so not too bad really. As you said they dont do it here yet, and will only start making these if they get enough interest. i have not been on the bike with it yet, maybe at the weekend and will give you all an update, but expecting it to be as good as the last seat on the standard SX. i went for the cover option for the rear as well, and can decide if i want to get this fitted later, but i like the Ninja writing on the front of the rear seat so not sure i want to change it but have the option for not that much more.
