My SE+ is being prepped!
My dealer called me Friday afternoon and told it just arrived. They are prepping it Saturday and I should be able to pick it up Monday - Tuesday at the latest. Very psyched. The dealer was kind enough to snap some pics while it was being unboxed this morning.

Congratulations...I got to unbox mine. It took my dealership half hour to prep it as it came completely assembled except for battery windscreen and gasoline.

Re: My SE+ is being prepped!
I brought it home yesterday and rode it to work today. The engine is so much smoother than I expected. It is really hard to keep it under 4k rpm (which is only 60 MPH in 6th gear) especially on the interstate. I set the shift light to 4k and it blinks at me a lot..... I only wheelied once on the way home and it was very small. Do any of high tech settings cut power when a wheelie is detected? I know Ducati has that on the Multistrada and other newer models, but I didn't think the H2 had that. I assume no, but wanted to ask.
Some thoughts and pics...
The bars are a tad higher and closer to the seat compared to the ZX-14 so I sit up straighter, which is actually nice. A little less weight on the ole wrists. The foot pegs are a smidge higher but I don't think it's of any consequence.
It is a breeze to put the bike on the center stand. I've had bikes where you really gotta pull and put all your weight into it. This one is much easier.
The Rideology app is very nice, easy to use. I only wish it automatically logged every ride. It makes you select '+' to start the logging. I am 0 for 3 so far in remembering to start the log. :/
The paint job is incredible. Photos don't do it justice.
All in all, I could not have picked a better bike. So excited! Me, my son (he gets my ZX-14) and a friend are headed to skyline drive on Sunday

A little off topic, but I'm going on a trip through Virginia in a few weeks and was planning on riding Skyline Drive after the northern portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway but have been advised against it by several people saying that the 30 MPH speed limit through the park takes the fun out of it. What's your take on this?

I've ridden it several times and two thoughts: if the rangers are out there with their K-band radar, just chill and enjoy the scenery. If they are not, enjoy the road. The last time I rode that stretch it was raining and that made it challenging and fun at much lower speed.HouTexH2SX wrote: Thu Mar 28, 2019 10:00 pm

My SE should be prepped in the next few days and I have a VA trip planned in June.

With the advent of Waze, you should have plenty of warning of police in the area. I have driven Skyline drive many many times and never had a problem with cops.HouTexH2SX wrote: Thu Mar 28, 2019 10:00 pm A little off topic, but I'm going on a trip through Virginia in a few weeks and was planning on riding Skyline Drive after the northern portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway but have been advised against it by several people saying that the 30 MPH speed limit through the park takes the fun out of it. I save the high speeds for the turns and do the speed limit on the straights (anyone can go fast in a straight line). If I 'm following a slow car I will go much slower than them on the straights to give myself some room to hammer it into the turns.
One suggestion, if you get down as far as the Thornton Gap entrance, take that exit and run up and down Rt 211 (Lee Hwy) a few times. Stick to the east side of Skyline Drive. The west side is uneventful. The uphill direction has two lanes, the speed limit is a little faster and the turns are awesome.
At the end of the twisty part in town on the right, just off the road, there's a old timey burger joint (Burgers N Things) that has some outdoor seating (if it's nice) and very good food (awesome burgers). I've eaten there twice and enjoyed it.

Re: My SE+ is being prepped!
Thanks for the replies. It may just take too much time to do Skyline Drive so I'm considering jumping off the BRP near Afton and taking Hwy 340 all the way to our evening stop in Front Royal. Is that a decent road or just boring? I always ride with a radar detector but have to put it away in Virginia since they are illegal there--I've never used Waze. That section of Rt 211 you mentioned does look like fun.PaulieG wrote: Fri Mar 29, 2019 12:37 pmWith the advent of Waze, you should have plenty of warning of police in the area. Re: My SE+ is being prepped!
I think it's super cool that we both have a ZX-14 that we are gifting to our son. By all means not a deadbeat but an awesome Dad that would never put his family 2nd!! I'm sure you're the same!
I picked up my 2019 SX SE+ ON 3-27-19 and it had to rain the next day. So I took it out today, put on 170 miles, and sure enough, it rained! Now my brand new bike looks as seasoned as my 14. Gotta laugh, I did all I could to keep it clean.
I'll be posting some more thoughts, but I had to jump in when I seen your post about giving the 14 to your son. I guess we are from the same age:)
