Warranty vs Saddlebags
I have taken the plunge and reserved my H2SX (base model). I can explain why I went with the base over the SE some other time but this post is centered around the extra incentives. With my purchase I have the choice of getting a free center stand and free saddle bags OR 2 years of extended warranty (3 years total coverage).
Which route would you go?
I initially thought bags and stand but the more I think about it the more I don't have a clue on what to pick! I suppose that's a good problem to have. I personally don't like the look of the bags and have never been in a situation where I really felt I needed bags. I don't do a lot of long distance touring (father of 9 month old twins so I don't depart the nest for long periods of time). Is the warranty worth the peace of mind? Or maybe the bags, even if I don't utilize them would be good for resale value (OEM bags).
Last note, I don't plan on flashing my bike. I found a shorty slip on that will be replacing that ridiculous can. I honestly don't understand covering the beauty of a single sided swing arm with that massive tube. I can always replace the OEM can for my warranty services and checks. Sorry, this post really turned into a giant wall of text. Ride safe my fellow ninjas!

Based on your riding habits I'd say get the warranty and don't worry about anything for awhile. Just don't make the mistake of riding a flashed bike or yours will feel a little anemic. The throttle response alone is worth it if Vcyclenut flashes it and the extra 40 pony's are nothing to sneeze at! Enjoy the ride, it's a blast dude and congrats on your choice.

Re: Warranty vs Saddlebags
I have the bags and an extended warranty, but were I you, I'd go with the bags and center stand. The center stand makes chain oiling much easier. If you were thinking about using a rear stand, there aren't any good options yet as far as I know. Pit Bull has promised to make an adapter, but I don't think they've done it yet.
As for the side cases, they mount/demount very quickly. I use mine to make errand runs or quick trips to the grocery store. You've got twins. You must make lots of errand runs, no? Go with the cases, and make all those errand runs on a supercharged bike.
As for the warranty, I told the dealership that I'd buy an extended warranty if they doubled the duration. That was the deal I got on my last Kawi. The dealer was happy to do it, so I got four years for the price of two.

That exact reason (running errands on a supercharged bike) was my biggest temptation for the bags hahaBurmashave wrote: Wed Mar 20, 2019 1:01 am

That flash sounds amazing, I can't wait to give it a go down the road. I really want to milk this machine before I unleash the beast within though. I'm in no rush to spoil myself with all that powa. It will be something to look forward too when I get use to how this performs in its stock form.Zdude wrote: Wed Mar 20, 2019 12:48 am Based on your riding habits I'd say get the warranty and don't worry about anything for awhile. That's my plan anyways, I'm sure if I get a week of rain on the forecast, I'll be really struggling to not yank that ecu and ship it out haha

Re: Warranty vs Saddlebags
I got lucky when the dealer quoted me the price for the warranty way under their cost. I pounced on it.
I modified a pin from a triumph on Powerstands lift, so I took my centerstand off. I mostly long distance ride, so bags were mandatory. I kept the bags off my Z1000SX/Ninja 1000 and got the new color panels.
I also have the ZX10R based header with flash from vcyclenut. Totally transformed the bike.

Re: Warranty vs Saddlebags
So my wife is looking at getting a left over 2018 SX and they offered her the same thing. Either 5.9% interest at a max of 60 months or extended warranty or bags and centre stand. While the bags would be nice for long trips, im curious if they can lower the price of the unit if you decide you don't want any of those options.

Re: Warranty vs Saddlebags
There are few leftover 2018 H2 SX near me (California), one going for $15,600 and a few at $16K. What prices are you seeing? There is even an SE going for $19K.

The one my wife is looking at is 23,000cdn otd, which is 17104usd. The asking price was 21,000 so thats 2k in fees and taxes. I think they inflated that to make up for the sale price.57x wrote: Sat Mar 23, 2019 1:14 am There are few leftover 2018 H2 SX near me (California), one going for $15,600 and a few at $16K.
