I really wish it would. Our bikes have an inner axle that runs through the hub axle. To remove that inner axle, the wheel must be removed, to remove a cotter pin to undo and release the axle. At least that's what the manual says - I haven't actually tried it yet.

In another thread a while back, someone queried the possibility of using the H2 parts so they could use an H2 paddock stand. Even though only one or two parts (6 actually) were required to make the swap, they were $eriously expensive.

Wait a minute - that thread was started by Snakes709 :D

Interesting discovery about the rear axle

It was. Haha. I thought it still came off the same though. But yea, you are right. Just checked the service manual. Maybe another reason to swap the axle/hub assembly to a H2’s.

Champ87, as I am in the middle of tearing the bike apart for new exhaust system, I am continually reminded of how much easier my Hinckley Triumphs were to work on compared to the H2 SX SE. The price to pay for all the benefits, perhaps.

hery guys ive changed both sprockets and did not find either of them that hard.

the front was more work but I did not have to drain the cooling system

the rear was fairly easy , remove rear wheel, rotate hub so you can get to bots and loosen all of them, loosen chain and take sprocket off

It feels that way but, when I think about it, I used to get frustrated doing some maintenance tasks on my Sprint. Bleeding the ABS system on the Sprint was a 3-stage process requiring software (or a trip to the dealer). That will definitely be easier on the H2 SX. Certainly, sprocket change on the Triumph was much easier, but it was easier than any bike I've owned.

I think fairing removal on the H2 SX is easier than the Triumph. Sure, it seems difficult at first but that's just lack of familiarity rather than complexity. The fact that the information is scattered through different sections of the maintenance manual doesn't help. Now I've done it a couple of times it seems quite straightforward - I don't need to look at the manual and I know where all the fasteners are. I posted a Fairing Removal Aid in another thread in the hope that it might help others doing it for the first time.

I do agree with you though; this is the most complex motorcycle I've ever owned and I just accept that some tasks will be more complicated as a result. It's a small price to pay for a great motorcycle and I do enjoy working on my bikes anyway.

Yeah, but you own a Ducati so everything else seems easy. :D

EDIT: BTW I did try the swap without draining coolant a few months back. I just could not get access to that one bolt and decided that, rather than do damage trying, I'd follow the service manual and drain coolant. Now that you've said it can be done, I will try the 'no drain' approach again when these sprockets need replacing.

after thinking about it more last night i did drain the coolant, sorry typical old man brain fart. The rear sprocket was very easy though as i did it twice, lol.

Could I ask what size sprockets did you go for and what effect did you notice.
