Good morning all...
Have just got my NInja H2 SX and awaiting some breaks in our crappy British weather to get some miles on it.
Have a question I hope someone can assist with.
Purchased the 12v Charging socket which is standard on the SE and looking to fit. The instructions are printed and images are rubbish and poorly detailed.
Has anyone fitted this? If so do you have any details which may help identify the connect to the connect to behind the upper fairing.
I have removed the side fairing however still cannot get to it.. Assuming I need to remove the front cowl fairing too?
Cheers

hi had my sx se a week , now manged 55 miles weather is crap but it will get better , cant help with the connection you are after , the sx 1000 had a couple of spare wires behind the left hand fairing , but don't think there are any on the sx h2 , I have just wired my sat nav mount straight to the battery with an inline fuse on it , at the top of the forum page there is a full workshop to download ,

Hi Keith
I can't help with specifics but I have an H2 SX SE and live in Suffolk (so not too far from you) You're welcome to come over and see how it's fitted on the SE if that would help.

Hi thanks for coming back to me.. Yes would be good to take a look...
I think I managed to find the connector which was slotted into a blank. Too some doing to dig this out of the wiring loom!
However when running a volt meter to it and ignition on and engine running even I get no reading. Connected it and nothing..
Not sure if this goes back to the fuse box and needs to be fused anywhere?
Do you know if and where this wire will run too?
Getting to the point of doing exactly what was mentioned. Straight wiring this to a switched live via in-line fuse something like the rear light - brake light?
Cheers

Might be a bit late with this response but here’s some information.
Image below was cropped from a photo of the front end wiring on my SE. It shows the Accessory Socket with Brown and Black/Yellow wires. Those wires become White/Black and Black/Yellow on the other side of the connector that hooks it into the Main Harness.

The Accessory Socket is switched via a relay to provide power only when ignition is on. Check to see if you have the relay – it should be there, even on the SX. The Accessory Relay is located under the tank just behind the steering head. Don’t be misled by the relay you see in the photo – that one is for cornering lights which the SX doesn’t have anyway.

Accessory circuit is protected by Fuse 1 in Fuse Block 2 located under the rear seat.

That shouldn’t be necessary. The bike already has the wiring, the relay and fuse needed for a switched outlet. Adding your own wiring only makes sense if you want an outlet in a different location or you want an accessory socket that is permanently powered.

Nice thanks for that image... I found the actual connector.. But as i said get no reading or voltage when testing.
ALso is that with the nose cone fairing removed? If so is it easy enough to remove?

Yes, if you're fitting the accessory socket in the same location then I'm not sure it could be done without removing the nose fairing. Maybe removing the screen would give enough room. I haven't had a need to try so I can't really say.
Fairing removal seem like a right pain the first time but it becomes quite easy once you've done it once or twice. I just posted a fairing removal aid using pics taken during a recent project. Mine's an SE but the process for the SX will be the same apart from a couple of connectors. Check out this link:
