Any Manitoba Riders?
Am I insane to seriously consider purchasing a 2018 H2SX? I tried to do the responsible thing and get a quote for what the insurance will cost me. Fortunately I have a perfect record for the last 15 years and have a significant rebate, but with that it will still cost me $2,700 CAD per year (down from $3,675). Anyone else suffering these insane prices in Manitoba?
I have looked into starting and stopping the coverage as I ride, but MPI will charge me just to activate and cancel. Any tricks to get around this? I made the mistake of sitting on this bike the other day and now it's consuming my every thought, just trying to figure out how to justify this one last "hurdle"

Yeah no private insurance here so MPI can do whatever they want. It's beyond absurd. My 1979 CB 750 was $1,200 for the year. That is about the declared value of my bike every single year...

Ah, so you guys are the same as BC where they can only go with ICBC and get rapped. That fucking sucks. I was paying $755 two years ago for my 2015 ZX10R and 2016 ZX14R. Then I sold the 10R so it dropped to $420 for just the 14R. Then I switched to the H2 SX/SE and it dropped to $322 and now its $283.

I can't even comprehend fair prices like that, my gosh! I have to budget all year to justify my insurance costs, and the winter here never seems to end. I don't have much of a choice if I want to ride, so I just have to bite the bullet. Just put my deposit down for a 2018 H2SX, I can't freaking wait!

Just curious, what does a H2SX SE go for in your neck of the woods?TallNinja wrote: Tue Mar 05, 2019 3:49 pm Am I insane to seriously consider purchasing a 2018 H2SX? Re: Any Manitoba Riders?
I have only seen one in a shop in Winnipeg and it is the standard version. 2019 so they are asking 22,500 for that unit. I have yet to see one anywhere that is an SE. The bike I'm getting is actually located in Calgary so a little 24 hour round trip will be involved.JonTheChron wrote: Sat Mar 09, 2019 1:14 amJust curious, what does a H2SX SE go for in your neck of the woods?

Re: Any Manitoba Riders?
That sucks. The dealership I normally go to never brought in a SE. They had a few SX's and I tried to demo ride them but they kept screwing me over. So after the third attempt gone wrong to demo ride it I said fuck it and went to another dealership here in Edmonton that my buddy recommended. He paid $4000 less for his 2016 ZX14R SE then I paid for my 2016 ZX14R SE at the dealership that kept screwing me over. So went there and not only did they have a SE but it was reduced price as a demo unit but had 0kms on it. I asked them to do a demo ride but they said no since they only do demo rides once a year. We went over the numbers, I asked again to demo ride it as I have a back injury and I need to know if I can physically handle the bike. The agreed and had to move 3 bikes out of the way on the show room floor. Ended up buying it that day. Bike was 23,900 with the demo price, minus another $175 they agreed to take off because the seat was uncomfortable and they agreed to go half what it would cost to get sargent seat to customize it.TallNinja wrote: Sat Mar 09, 2019 8:51 pmI have only seen one in a shop in Winnipeg and it is the standard version. 2019 so they are asking 22,500 for that unit.
