Does anybody know if it’s normal to not be able to set the CC to anything above 83 mph?? Also, can’t use the increase speed button either...

If deliberately restricted then a US feature as I've set my CC at higher speeds than that on my UK bike.

The owners manual says the cruise control is limited to 85 mph. The increase or decrease buttons only work for me one press at a time to increase or decrease 1 mph. Multiple successive presses do nothing--you have to wait a few seconds to press again for another 1 mph change. On my KTM SDR and Yamaha FJR1300 I can press multiple times successively and get multiple changes.

If you hold down the buttons your set speed will continue to increase or decrease until you release them.

As far as I understand it, the brake light switch does not disengage cruise control. I would guess this is by design so that cruise control disengages before the brake engages. There is a dealer diagnostic routine to check all the cruise control cancel switches (throttle, clutch, front brake, rear brake) starting on page 16-117 of the shop manual.
If your cruise control does not engage, check your clutch lever. Mine did not return to its normal position because the lever connection to the handlebar was dry. It was a small squeaking sound too. Some spray (WD-40) solved the problem.
If you slightly pull the clutch lever the cc will disengage, so it is very important that the lever returns to the outer position.

I am having the same problem now after fixing my bracket. I didnt realize the plastic nut could be squeezed out and I completely spun the nut off to get the sensor out. But now I do not know where to set it. how did you figure out where it needed set?

If I brake at speed with cc set,it goes off.If I push and hold the set button on top,it will resume. But I think as someone mentioned,if you're below a certain speed and gear choice,it won't resume.I held mine about 2 seconds.THe previous speed indicated on the 'green set' highlight at the upper top portion of the display was lit.

I don't need to hold mine for it to resume, I just tap the button, but yes, you have to be above a certain gear (above 3rd I think?) and each gear has a top speed it can go. So if you set it to 85 in 6th, then downshift to 4th and try to resume, it won't work.

Hey Gents. Unless the laws of physics have changed… Then a switch, when closed means a completed circuit. I installed some modified levers on the SX so I had to do some mods to 2 of the CC cutout switches.

Basically this is obvious. The Cutout switches for the CC are always in a closed position (according to schematics). Meaning unless opened cruise should set and operate. However I had to perpetually jumper closed the Clutch and the Throttle CC cutouts. I have 2 still intact/fully operational. What in the Sam Fuckin hell would prevent the cruise from setting❔❔❔❔❔❔

Is it possible the these switches have a built in potentiometer?

Does anyone know what the CC diag tool looks like?
Can at be recreated from scratch?
Or obtained for CheapCheap?

At my wits end here. Really don't wanna have to install a damn throttle lock. Cheers yall.
