Riding Suits for the highway carver.

Post by Fitz » Sat Mar 02, 2019 1:57 am

Any suggestions for folks that regularly do long highway miles and some triple digit stuff but not full on track days? I commute when able, and thinking it's time to go for something a bit better both in looks and function. Because I'm not tracking, I'd like to find something that isn't a $2000 airbag suit. But don't know what I'm looking at in those $700-$1200 range of one piece suits.

Currently just in a joe rocket heavy textile jacket and tourmaster zipdown heavy pants. Been great riding even during the winter unless it's super bad. Just not so sure about at my speeds jacket pulling up and those sorts of issues.

We get a really hot summer down here - so in summer I go for a Dririder airflow jacket with all the armor stuff in the right places and the pants to match... in winter if I am touring on the K1600 I use a BMW tour shell suit - epic...warm, waterproof etc

On the H2 SX I still wear a full leather Ricondi suit - in summer I just go early morning and get back into the a/c by 10:30 am lol

I like the Aerostitch Roadcrafter. I have a two piece suit so I can use just the jacket for short trips and the full kit for long haul. Been using that set up for nearly 20 years.

Just picked up a Revit Akira Jacket and Vertex GT pants for $1600 CAN - its a 2 piece perforated leather suit that`s a good all arounder, mostly highway and the odd track day.
