Sounds like you are confusing the air filter service with the rest of the other services required. If you are just talking about the air filter, then yes, no service for 2 years if that's what you get per year. However, fluids still have to be changed. Due to my back injury I rarely ride 6000kms in a riding reason, therefor I do my oil changes once a year (in the spring before I ride)

The service every year is probably for those that barely ride, because just sitting like that you can get fork seals leak, other odds and ends that don't do well with sitting. Sure it's just a chance for them to recomend batteries/tires, etc. But if you arn't putting the miles on it, not like they are suggesting additional extra valve timings etc.

I'm loathing calling to see what my 600 mile service is going to run me though, at 540.

Checking the airfilter is very easy. Here is how I do it.

I am not talking about air filter service, I am talking about the regular service at every 12 000 km (7600 miles) All I said was that you may change your air filter more often if you ar riding in very dusty and dirty conditions.

When the intervals are 12 000 km, why do say "fluids still have to be changed" at 6000 km? This is waste of good oil and money.
Of course, you can change your oil every 6000 km if you want, but it is not necessary. The oil does not lose its quality when not beeing used.

Newer cars go 30 000 km between oil change. Ok, they, have lower revs, and not common oil on engine, gearbox and clutch, but 12 000 km is below half the mileage.

If you ride 6000 km per year, then have your service (including oil change) every second year.

Oil breaks down over time regardless if its used or not. Condinsation builds up depending on ambient temps. There was been a few springs where my oil is milky white from sitting over the winter. You are telling me to just ignore that because cars can go 30,000kms without an oil change? Yea tell me how that goes for you.

If you ride 500 miles per year, the service bok tells you to service the bike once a year?

The reason for this is that Kawasaki wants to sell service parts and keep their dealers occupied with work.

Have your service at 7600 miles, the bike will do just fine.
What about the warranty?

If Mr Kwak says “service after 1 year”, then you don’t get the bike serviced, then something goes “bang”, Mr Kwak will say “sorry, you didn’t follow our service intervals, it’s not covered”.

Just did mine and it was $280 USD (full synthetic oil). Slightly cheaper is you don't use synthetic according to my dealer.

Bingo. That was the first question they asked me when my zx14r spun 2 rod bearings. Showed the receipt for the oil and oem filter i bought from the dealership. Shot that attempt to deny my warranty down real quick.

I didn't want to start to have to start changing air filters every 2500 miles on a bike I am not familiar with , is it a hard job to do~?? ,

I hate taking plastics off for the first time, always scared in case I break something.

sorry if you think I am being a bit fussy

but to me it is a lot of money to part with as well as my 2017 sx if ni am not 100 % sure .
Dude: Don't do it.

You do not sound like you are a potential H2 Owner at all.

If your main concern is about air filters, walk away. Fast.

Also, H2 owners never use the word 'fussy'. Ever.

That is all.

As for the oil it depends. For instance, the oil I use in my H2SX is recommended to be changed every 5000KMs (3000Mi) so I do as the manufacturer recommends. As with all service parts, you should always go with the lowest recommendations by the manufacturer. I'm sure if a vehicle was driven 0 KMs with fresh oil sitting in the engine that it could stay there for an undetermined amount of time, it happens all the time in dealerships.

I don't think that you could go 12 years without changing the oils if only driven 1000 kms per year. Don't quote me on this but from my understanding, contaminated oils sitting in your crankcase and other parts of your engine for an extended period of time will leave deposits that are not easily removed and that build up over time.
