5mm spacers
5mm spacers
I want to swap in a zx10r header but everyone talks about these 5mm spacers. Does anyone have a pic so I understand what I need to make this work?

What shop is that? Can they make some for me too, esp. since they already know what they are?Snakes709 wrote: Sun Feb 10, 2019 10:26 pm Not my pictures. But these are what they look like. I had a shop make them up for me

Re: 5mm spacers
The spacers in the picture arent what i had made up. I think kman did those. I never got pictures of the ones i had made up by the shop. Picked them up and installed them. That being said, i could get them to make more and ship them to you. Cost me $130cdn total to have them make them with a waterjet.
If you find a local metal fabrication shop, they can make them. This was easy work for them. He told me this was the smallest and most unusual job for them lol

Re: 5mm spacers
The sleeves at the end of the pipe that insert into the exhaust ports of the head arent long enough. If you tighten the bolts that push the flanges against the sleeves, it doesnt tighten enough so the header is to loose. The spacers take up the space so the flanges can sit tighter, holding the header in place.

Re: 5mm spacers
No, i think they did that to hold it in place. The shop that did mine made complete round circles. Then i used a saw to cut a slit in it so i could spread them open to get them around the pipe. Then used channel locks to close them up. Didnt do any welding.
