Could the "with both models" mean 800 of each? 800 total does not seem like a lot.

It looked like it said "planned sales" hopefully they make a few more than they are expecting to sell just in case more people want one. I'm just hoping I get mine really.

That's sounds really low. My first thought was maybe 800 for just Japan...but that might be high. 800 worldwide would make it quite rare.

A buddy of mine said that the original numbers for the R1M were 500 world wide but it sold so well they upped it to 500 per country/ market.

Wow, if it really is 800 bikes world wide and that includes both the base and the SE, then it will indeed be a very rare bike. Time will tell what the real story is.
