SIDE BAG MOUNT REMOVAL

Post by jet1319 » Wed Jan 30, 2019 9:54 pm

Is there a way to remove the side mounts for the luggage on the rear tail of the SX SE?
A kit of some type?

you talking about the handles? If so, yes, they are held in by 2x 10mm bolts per side. Gotta remove the rear seat and the plastic shroud that holds the seat latch in place to get access to 1 bolt per side.

No. It will be pretty obvious if you remove them

Didn't know where else to put this, does anybody know if the side bags come with the lock cylinders. Just purchased a set off e bay , it stated does not come with them.

I think a new topic would have been O.K. To answer your question, lock cylinders do not come with the sidecases. Also not included are the color panels, color trim sets, and the fitting kit. See (for '18 SX SE models): https://www.kawasaki.com/accessories/ve ... /ZX1002BJF

I've attached a pic to back up what Snakes709 said. Even though I think the bike looks like sh.. without them, I do have an idea for those who don't agree. Try some metal mesh attached to the inside. Aluminum mesh could be formed to a suitable shape, sprayed black and attached to the inside with some silicon caulk, or use Velcro if you think you may want refit the rail to use the bags from time to time. I haven't seen it done so can't say how it would look but might be worth a try.

Yeah, tell everyone they're vents to provide extra cooling for the supercharger.
