Yes it was good times with thousands of members and a lot of good natured trash talking between the Busa-boys and the Kaw-boys! Gobs of tech tips and suggestions too. Than there was "Bikeland" another forum that was more ZX12 and later ZX14 oriented. Made a couple trips to the "Tail Of The Dragon" at Deal's Gap when we had ZX12 member gatherings, man, those were good times and great friends. With members like "Red Elk" and "Fish Antlers" but sadly as most things in life they started to fade into oblivion. Not sure if they are still active at all but certainly not like they were early on anyway.DeRox wrote: Fri Jan 25, 2019 8:04 amLaBusas... Doug Meyer of Muzzy Performance monitored that forum and contributed at times. I always respected his opinions and ran a Titanium Pipe with Carbon can the 1st couple years before I turbo'd that beast. Loved that bike dearly and was my favorite bike till this SXSE . While I run a Yosh Carbon slip-on on this one with a Vcyclenut tune, I certainly respect Brock's ability and his racing achievements. Might have bought his slip-on if it had come earlier and since I live about 5 miles from his facility I offered my bike for pipe developement early on but he already had someone in mind I suppose. Anyway, I enjoy his video's and hope that he continues to post on occasion if we haven't pissed him off too much. No flaming please, I fully understand everyone's point it's just that guys like him are an enormous benefit and addition to our forum. Peace![]()

It's made by Brock. Early in the video he explains how humidity effects dyno numbers on a naturally aspirated bike. Does humidity effect a forced induction bike more, less or the same? I don't know, I'm not an expert but I do want to be an informed consumer. That's why im questioning this. I'm not trying to be a jerk but a gain of 72hp with a slip on and flash/tune seems like a stretch. I'm hoping for a productive discussion that leads to better understanding.
At about the 11:45 mark in the video Brock talks about the importance of consistency when comparing dyno numbers and mentions the effects of removing and re strapping the bike to the dyno. Then the effects of weather patterns are mentioned. The big one is at about 13:45 "consistency is very important" then something like engineering is important and doing your homework is important.
Then at 14:05 in the video Brock refers to 650ibs initial dyno conditions as "Disney Land" numbers in the winter that "just doesn't happen in the real world". At 15:30ish he talks further about how you have to basically get a baseline then swap a part and immediately run the bike on the dyno "that's the only way you're going to know if that part works." To me that goes both ways, you can't get a baseline under better than perfect conditions then compare a change to crappy conditions and you can't get a baseline under crappy conditions (hot and humid) and compare them to "Disney Land" conditions.
Then at the end Brock reiterates the importance of everything being the same when comparing dyno numbers down to the oil in the bike. If that's the case is it not stretching the truth to compare summer time results with winter time results?
Brock hopefully you don't take this personally, just looking for open discussion. Kind of line Rickey Bobby with all due respect but I honestly mean with all due respect. I'm going to send you an email with a link to this thread. Hopefully you can respond here.

As I see it......
No one is getting 72 pony’s from a can and a tune.
The bike is heavily restricted and removing that finds you around 50hp.
Most stock bikes have quite restricted cans, and run very poor mapping to meet emissions.
To find the extra 22hp is impressive, but not unbelievable.

Cooter, to answer your question about humidity affecting boosted bikes more or less, it affects it more. With boost you are multiplying the atmospheric conditions. Correction factors are built for naturally aspirated vehicles and do not do a good job of correction for our application.

Re: Brocks Pulls 240HP
You know, this is a great point. I mean, I would have never thought you could gain 40 o 50 RWHP with just a tune until Vcyclenut did it and I don't question it after experiencing the difference on my bike. If not mistaken, I believe he mentions somewhere in a post that there was more available but he is delivering a safe tune that will be able to deal with some of the lousy fuels out here. So, that being the case I'm sure Brock was able to tweak it up some more to achieve a higher number in his shop under controlled conditions. Now, that's not saying he is going to offer that tune unless you understand the consequences of gambling with your $25,000 motorcycle, some would go for it, I'm not one of them though. Anyway, one thing we know for sure is that this isn't like the "good old days" when you bolted a 4/1 Kerker on a Z1 and a set of smoothbores hoping to get another 10 or 12 horsepower at best and I for one thank God, I hated pulling carbs and sparkplugs over and over changing jets, raising needles and reading plugs!Snakes709 wrote: Fri Feb 01, 2019 3:09 pm Whos to say brock didnt make the tune more aggressive? Re: Brocks Pulls 240HP
Yea i too saw that post by vcycle keeping the afr safe. Avg stock bike is making 165whp, avg flashed/bolton bike is making 230whp. So why is 240 so hard to believe?Zdude wrote: Sun Feb 03, 2019 4:19 amYou know, this is a great point. Re: Brocks Pulls 240HP
I’m still surprised folk keep talking about these big numbers made from a tune and a can.
Doesn’t the stock bike make around 222 in its derestricted form?
https://h2sxriders.net/derestricted-h2sx/
The gains from a tune / can / filter are a lot less than the numbers quoted.

Re: Brocks Pulls 240HP
To me there was never any doubt that Brock's tuned H2SX is making 240WHP, the only thing that gets to me is he's claiming a 72WHP gain over a tune and a slip-on by comparing an old dyno chart done in totally different atmospheric conditions to this new tune.Snakes709 wrote: Sun Feb 03, 2019 5:27 am

Was is too complicated to do a fresh baseline run right before the tune and the slip-on so us consumers could actually have a true comparison? Could an explanation be provided? I have watched the video cOoTeR posted several times in the past and found it very interesting and educational, but it's like it was totally forgotten by even himself after posting his "240 Hp SLEEPER" video..
