So I was recently looking into the Texas mile that is only a few hours away from me. Thought it may be a chance to see how fast the bike could go with the full exhaust system, and ECU flash.
When I started reading the guidelines for bikes, they have to have a steering damper, engine tether kill switch, and tires rated for the speed you will be going. This is in addition to the standard gear requirements. Leathers, full gauntlet gloves, etc...
I have seen someone on this forum with the tether kill switch, but I'm not sure I want to add that to my bike, as this would be a one time event for me.
Has anyone found a steering damper for this bike yet? That would be a nice thing to install, and not just needed for a high speed track run.
Also, as far as tires are concerned, the only rating I have seen is W. Which stands for 168mph. I know that a lot of times it means 168+, and I'm not going to pursue the issue with them, as they may be acceptable, but has anyone found any tires rated for going 200mph? This is really just out of curiosity at this point.
Here is a link to the website if anyone is interested. They also have a Colorado mile.

Steering Damper and Other High speed necessities
Re: Steering Damper and Other High speed necessities
Nah, even the race tires I use are marked "W". Speed ratings are regulated numbers for sustained speeds though, never seen except the autobahn maybe. I'm sure if you show up with a W rated tire you're good. Probably just looking for people on low-rated touring tires and such.
As for the steering damper, nope, haven't heard of anyone mounting one yet. I was going to do a custom mount one on mine, but have moved onto other projects. It's not going to be easy, there's not a lot of free room to put one. I think a rotary damper would be the key, like a GPR or Scotts damper. Just riding my H2 SX and enjoying it for now.
Good luck!

I'm planning on having a custom mount made and using a used one off of a zx10r. I'm going to mount it in front of the gas tank then have another mount going around one of the fork tubes. Mine is going to be a custom fab but the fork tube mount will look like just about any of the universal style mounts. Similar to this, https://www.ebay.com/itm/54mm-CNC-Motor ... 2637156911
Most land speed events also require a metal chain protector. Basically because their insurance thinks that will help you in the event of a broken chain. Since they really don't understand what chain guards are for.
