I'm not so sure. I have the electronic suspension on my FJR and I would say I use it a lot especially riding down to the Texas Hill Country or up to the Ozarks. The soft setting is great for the long straight stretches with a passenger and then as soon as you please, a couple of flips of the buttons and you're ready to throw the bike into curves on the fly. I like it and I wish I'd known there was going to be a SE+, I would have waited for it. I agree though, I wouldn't take the hit on trade in now.

That's exactly how I feel about it. I really like the flexibility of suspension adjustments on the fly with my '16 FJR when changing from super slab riding to twisties--I previously had a '13 FJR without the electronic suspension and immediately had buyer's remorse when they came out with the ES model the very next year so I traded it in '16 for the ES model (also didn't like the 80 mph limit on the '13's cruise control that they also eliminated the next year--I also don't like the 85 mph limit on the H2 SX SE).

Since I got my H2 SX SE mostly for day riding I wouldn't pay the premium now to change it out to an SE+ but would probably have gone for it originally for the extra $3K.

I purchased a 2019 SE in October (to be delivered March 2019), a couple of weeks before I learned about the SE+. I then changed my order to the SE+ after long deliberation. It had been easy to choose the SE over the base SX due to the large and very desirable list of additional features. However choosing the SE+ over the SE was much harder, since this list of additional features is not as extensive nor as desirable (and with an even bigger price increase). However, the one thing that was commonly mentioned by reviewers as missing, in a bike with a slew of awesome features, was semi-active suspension. In the end I went with the SE+ because this will likely be my last bike and I want it to be as enjoyable as possible.

In time, I will be able to determine if shelling out the $ was worthwhile. At the moment I really don't know.

I think you'll be happy with it.

At the same time, I intend to be happy with my SX SE, and I plan to give buyer's remorse a complete miss, although sometimes this is easier said than done. Long ago, a friend of mine told me that guys never shop so much for something as they do after they have bought it. I've found this to be true. Understanding that, I avoid checking prices after a major purchase, even though it's very tempting. Of course, if your dealer hits you in the face with a marked down price by putting it on a sign in the showroom, it may be hard to avoid. On the other hand, I've glanced at nearly all of the active threads here since I joined, but I've yet to read the "What price did you pay" thread because I know it will not likely make me any happier with my purchase. I try to be happy with each major purchase, recognizing that I made my best decision with the information available at the time.

While I'm on the philosopher vein, I'll share something else I've found to be true. "Comparison is the thief of happiness." [Laura Williams]

I think these sort of purchase decisions are easier when you are spending someone else’s money....as in “you should do xxx”. For me, spending and extra 5% or so to get all the features is a pretty easy decision. More than that not so easy. I’m very structured when I make big ticket purchases. It’s how I manage my money. I have a number in mind that I don’t want to go over. Saving is not about how much money you have, it’s about how much you need to retire without changing your standard of living.

I didn’t mean to turn this into a lesson in economics, but the point is that paying $3000 more on a $21,000 bike requires a little more thought. I have also learned that not spending it could cost me more in two years when I regret what I did not buy. In the case of the adjustable suspension, it’s a feature I have on two of my bikes right now and I use it a lot. The reason is that we have to ride 50 miles to get to our first curve, so making those 50 miles (each direction) more comfortable is a good thing.

Did I buy the SE in June 2018? Yes.

Was I pissed when I heard the announcement of the SE+ and its new features? A little.

Would I've bought the SE+ rather then the SE if I was given the chance in June? Definitely.

Will I trade in my bike for the new model (SE+)? Nope.

The point here is that there's always gonna be a superior or at least somewhat better predecessor to the bike you wanna buy/own.
I didn't want to wait forever, plus I like my emerald green paint more than the silver one. All in all I'm happy with my SE, I got a bike I can ride an thoroughly enjoy. E-Suspension and Brembos would have been nice, of course, but for now I don't need that.

I would like to think that after all my stuffing around I ride an SE ++++++ :) .... you cannot always wait for the next of anything... if I had waited I would have missed out on 15,000 ball tearing perma smile riding kilometres.

Mine is that ridden and modded it's probably worth bugger all to trade in - Ill just ride this until they make a stock FASTER one than the one I have built... then I can mod the ring out of that :)

I went to a diner xmas meetup with cars and bikes etc - the sx se was the only one there in a forest of Busa's and gsxr's and R1's.... so still has a bit of rarity and wank value as we would say...lol

Oh and I might be the only one but I don't like the colour of the new one, the SE's gold fleck green is pretty stunning...

I went to a tim hortons where all the bikers go. I rarely go there as i spend my time actually riding and not sitting in a parking lot taking. Anyways, i got quite the crowed looking at my bike. Had to keep explaining its not the actual H2, its the sport touring version. One guy wasnt impressed and kept saying his bike is faster and better looking. I asked what he rode and he said a busa. I look towards the rest of the bikes and there was 3 busa’s in the parking lot. I just looked at him and said “oh, Its ANOTHER busa”. He said again “faster then this bike”. I just replied “good for it, i dont care what bike is faster, i dont like having the same bike as everyone and their grandmother has”. He said it was a super rare busa, as 2 more rolled in, 1 of them being identical to it. Total of 5 busa’s out of 20-30 bikes.

Nice, I also rarely go to random meets, but there is a big meet a few minutes from my place every Thursday. (150-200bikes) I must say, my bike doesn't get much attention until I take off and they hear the supercharger whistle and the BOV vent to atmosphere. I think people don't know what the hell they are looking at. Some spot the 'supercharged' logo and only at that point in time do they go crazy..

If some busa owner would tell me what he told you, my arrogance would probably kick in and I'd probably tell him.. ''I heard Suzuki is slowly discontinuing the Hayabusa... wonder why..''
