Anyone know if this accentric hub can be rotated 180 degrees to increase the rear ride height, or is it already that way.
Just that I did that for a friends bike a few years back and it transformed the steering, think it was a Triumph triple but not sure.

See this thread Chain Adjustment and Ride Height
As a side note - on Triumphs rotating the eccentric is a way of lowering the bike. Default setting is higher ride height so if you were able to increase then someone must have put it in the lower position previously. The way the bike leans on the sidestand is usually an indication.

Re: Accentric chain adjuster
Thanks for the link Champ87.
We used to do this on ZZR1100’s to gain a fraction on ground clearance and steering angle.
You just needed to keep an eye on increased wear from the chain on the plastic guide over the front of the swingarm.

Yep, it was a ZZR not a Triumph, checked with him last night.
So does that mean it’s on the low setting or the higher setting on a H2 SX?

Re: Accentric chain adjuster
I don't remember which way it was configured when I checked it out. If I had to guess, I'd say it sat high (axle low) so, if it were possible, rotating would drop the rear ride height. Either way, the eccentric won't rotate 360°so the its position will be determined by chain slack rather than rider choice and any change is ride height is going to be minimal.Bengarzy wrote: Mon Dec 17, 2018 5:35 pmSo does that mean it’s on the low setting or the higher setting on a H2 SX?

Re: Accentric chain adjuster
realising to adjust the chain is not the same as my pervious bikes I found this on you tube , it is an h2, but am I right in thinking it is exactly the same to adjust as the sx h2, read previous threads were some members had issues cross threading the two securing bolts , looking at the video it looks straight forward with no need to remove the two bolts just loosen them enough to allow the adjustment, I will need the correct spanner now to adjust the chain when needed in the future ,there is not one under my seat !!

Yes. The rear hub arrangement is different but chain adjustment is exactly the same.keith zx wrote: Wed Apr 10, 2019 7:20 pm....am I right in thinking it is exactly the same to adjust as the sx h2...

As I recall, that member had issues removing the bolts so it would seem they were cross-threaded at the factory. Even so, it would be smart to tighten the bolts in gradual steps to the correct torque as recommended in the factory service manual.
And if Kawasaki had provided one it'd be a cheap, nasty piece of stamped metal that would graze your knuckles on the chain without any effort on your part!keith zx wrote: Wed Apr 10, 2019 7:20 pm I will need the correct spanner now to adjust the chain when needed in the future ,there is not one under my seat !!
If you like owning nice tools then MotoMFG's CH-10 chain adjusting tool for Ducatis fits perfectly. A couple of alternatives are suggested in this thread.
