If you got 5000 miles out of these tires you should be very satisfied. I reached 2200 miles and they were at the wear bars.

I don't think the pressure is the problem, but a long ride with a lot of highway riding without curves really flattens the tires.
Exactly my issue. I am fine with the number of miles I got on these. Hell, if there were more turns it would be 7000 miles.

I'm not changing my pressures. I run 33 PSI front/34 rear. I'd rather have it the way I like it rather than get a few more miles. I usually get 7000-7500 miles at these pressures on S21s, which is in the normal range from what I see.

I have a set of Angel GTs in my shop for a swap this winter. I'm going to try them but don't have high hopes.
That's pretty low pressure settings for a bike this heavy--maybe that's why they're flattening out so fast. The manual recommends 42 front and rear--I run 40 front, 42 rear.
I agree. This is way too low pressure. I run 38 front and 42 rear. No wonder your rear tyre is flattening. Have you checked the temperature with your hand after riding at high speed?
And it is a mystery to me how you get 7500 miles on S21s!! I got less than a third........

Air pressure is just preference. I have tried them higher and don't like them. Again, they are flattened because I rode 5000 highway miles. They are not touring tires. I normally get 7-8000 miles on S21s.

It is well documented that too low or too high tire pressure can affect wear and handling. You just need to achieve a good balance between them to suit your preference.

If you are talking about wear on the OEM S21 tires, I agree. They are not at all like the retail versions. I think I got 2000 miles out of the OEM tires, and that was too much.

I don't consider 5000 miles in a straight line as wearing out fast. I was getting almost 9000 miles out of S21 tires on my Ninja 1000/Z1000SX, and I ran that bike at 32/33 PSI. I live in the mountains and almost never ride on a freeway. I usually wear the sides out before the center. The Ninja 1000 is only around 40lbs lighter (at least when I weighed both of my bikes), and it's quite nose heavy. Both bikes were the same weight on the front and all the extra weight was on the rear on the H2 SX.

I'm probably going to keep running my square S21s for more miles. I may be able to get them round again.

I never considered to buy new S21s because of fast wearing out. Maybe I should try a set next time? The grip is very good.

However, I am impressed when you get 9000 miles out of sport tires like S21. I have never got more than 6000 miles on any pervious bike.
On the SX SE I got 5000 miles from Continental Road Attack 3.

I think another reason I may do ok with lower pressures is the weather is so mild here. I live in the central coast of California. It almost never gets hot here.

Could be road surface too. Here in the MO/AR area, the aggregate has a higher hardrock gravel content. Great traction, but harder on tire life.

Motorcycling is not, of itself, inherently dangerous. It is, however, extremely unforgiving of inattention, ignorance, incompetence, or stupidity
