National Cycle VStream windscreen

Post by 57x » Thu Dec 13, 2018 8:38 am

Sadly, I am not impressed. VStream has been great on other bikes to get wind noise out of your ears. It is unbearable on the SX. I tried the low VStream. While it is better than the SE screen, I still have lots of wind noise in my ears. Plus the windscreen is ugly as sin. I have a very tall torso with short arms and legs, so I sit fairly forward when I ride. Others who are have symmetrical build do not seem to have this issue as bad as I do.

Wow do I need tires. 5000 miles on a long ride flattened these out terribly.

You should try the OEM lower smoke windshield: Part nr 999941078

https://www.kawasaki.no/no/accessories/ ... VwMWl0LC1s

Good looking and less wind noise than the original SE screen. My experience regarding screens and noise: Lower is better.

If you got 5000 miles out of these tires you should be very satisfied. I reached 2200 miles and they were at the wear bars.

I don't think the pressure is the problem, but a long ride with a lot of highway riding without curves really flattens the tires.

Exactly my issue. I am fine with the number of miles I got on these. Hell, if there were more turns it would be 7000 miles.

I'm not changing my pressures. I run 33 PSI front/34 rear. I'd rather have it the way I like it rather than get a few more miles. I usually get 7000-7500 miles at these pressures on S21s, which is in the normal range from what I see.

I have a set of Angel GTs in my shop for a swap this winter. I'm going to try them but don't have high hopes.

I'm just over 6,000 miles on my bike and my 2nd set of tires is on the wear bars. I think I'm going to try the PR5s out next.

Are both sets Bridgestone S 21, same as the OEM tires? Great grip but it wears too fast. I think both PR5 and Angel GT are far better regarding mileage.

That's pretty low pressure settings for a bike this heavy--maybe that's why they're flattening out so fast. The manual recommends 42 front and rear--I run 40 front, 42 rear.

Both were S 21s. I had angel Gt tires on my concours. I never had any issues with them but I never felt like the grip was all that good.

Unfortunately the smoked OEM windscreen doesn't seem to be available in the Americas, I asked my dealership to order it using those part numbers and he couldn't have access to it.
