Re: Insurance Costs
I purchased my H2SXSE about a month ago, I have 3 bikes insured through State Farm but my cars and home are insured through USAA. Are you in a rural area of Indiana? I'm right outside of Philadelphia and this entire area is congested so that may explain the higher premiums. Thanks

Re: Insurance Costs
Sort of rural. Definitely not as dense as Philadelphia seemed last time I was there.wellcraft wrote: Mon Apr 22, 2019 2:17 am I purchased my H2SXSE about a month ago, I have 3 bikes insured through State Farm but my cars and home are insured through USAA. Re: Insurance Costs
Speaking of Progressive, I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but Progressive's multi-vehicle discount requires 3 vehicles (other insurers I looked at require 2). I found this out when I sold my old '77 Honda CB750. With the CB750 off my Progressive insurance, my rate increased more than what it cost to insure the CB750 annually. In other words, the discount was greater than what it cost to insure an old bike.
So, I had a long talk with a Progressive rep. I told him that it would make sense for me to visit a bike boneyard, buy an old frame, cut the VIN plate off, scrap the frame and insure the VIN to claim the multi-vehicle discount. The rep admitted that would make sense. The bogosity of their policy caused me to dump Progressive forever.

Re: Insurance Costs
I've been with USAA about 39 years, or so, age 67. Bike coverage is thru a partnership between USAA and Progressive.
Minimum coverage is $75 a year and
Max coverage, though not capped out, is $652 a year
Our other vehicles are with USAA, as is all our other insurance. This is the first time any of our vehicle insurance has gone to a different carrier.

Re: Insurance Costs
I have been with USAA for a long time, probably 30 years. We have our two cages, house and valuable personal property insured with them. When I lived in the People's Republic of California, USAA also covered our motorcycles and continued doing so when we moved to AZ. When I bought the SE, no such luck and was handed off to Progressive with a ~$1300 premium for the first year, second year a bit less. A quote from State Farm was similar.

Re: Insurance Costs
I was a little apprehensive about what insurance costs would be when I decided to buy my new H2 SX SE. Once again, super happy with State Farm. $410 a year for full coverage with $500 deductibles. I'm 47 years old, insured in Colorado. I have my car and other 2 bikes with them.Champ87 wrote: Mon Apr 22, 2019 1:41 amAccording to my agent, State Farm recently re-rated the H2 SX and dropped their premiums. Mine's for a 61 year old rider living in Indiana. $500K coverage and $100 deductible. I have 3 motorcycles, 2 cars and 1 house insured so maybe some multi-policy discount.wellcraft wrote: Sat Apr 20, 2019 10:27 pmHow are you getting $520 a year, I'm also with state Farm and I'm paying about $950 for full coverage? I live in PA but just outside of Philadelphia so that could account for the difference in rates.
