Denali Sound Bomb horn

The first mod I always do when getting a new bike is ripping off the pathetic OEM horn and replacing it with a air horn.

It’s fitted inside the right hand side of the faring. Lots of room and no panels to remove except the infill panel on top.

The battery is easy to access also, compared to a ZZR or GTR.

I’ve had permission to post the wiring diagram from the ZX 14R forum. ( Thanks Pete ).

Page 18 & 19 for horn installation.

There’s lots of other wiring diagrams and “how to’s” for other accessories. Although not for a H2SX but the principals are pretty much the same.

Unfortunately, I did not take photos during the installation but I have a photo of the horn in place. The small red box is the horn relay which needs to be fitted due to the large current being drawn.

Pic 2 shows the infill panel removed, the horn is just forward of the coolant filler cap.

How did you secure it under the right upper fairing? I was looking to install it there, but could not find a satisfactory way to make sure it stayed in place. (Except I am installing a Stebel Nautilus.)

If you look closely in this photo you will see the aluminum bracket. It’s a piece of flat bar approx 4” long.

Fixing the plate to the Stebel will be the same as the Denali Sound Bomb, identical location.

I then found a mounting point on the fairing. There were 2 convenient points, one for the horn, and one for the relay.

And yes it is loud! Very!!
