Re: Sprint filter with flash sale
Dumb question but, I bought extended warranty, will this void it? If something happened to the power plant could it
Be changed back before heading to dealer?

Re: Sprint filter with flash sale
vcyclenut can answer more correctly, but an ecu should be able to be reset back to facktory level flash. also, never volunteer to your dealer that you've even touched the ecu. They would have no reason to really dig into it unless you say something or aske questions about itmountainroadsrule wrote: Sat Nov 10, 2018 12:14 am Dumb question but, I bought extended warranty, will this void it? Re: Sprint filter with flash sale
I work for caterpillar as a mechanic and I know when we have an engine failure the eco is looked at for all aspects of use to determine if warranty will be granted. Things like overspending the engine, overheated times and duration. You get the idea. I wonder if the bikes Econ logs these things as well?

Re: Sprint filter with flash sale
The dealer can not tell if your ecu is flashed
I had a person contact me last week that another person was flashing tuning his bike on the dyno and had a motor failure, they returned the ecu back to stock and the motor failure was covered under warranty
the motorcycle ecu's for what ever reason are not as sophisticated as other ecu's as far as counting key counts and such.
A flashed ecu should only possibly void one warranty the motor, if a sensor goes bad or something else mechanical it has zero to do with a flashed ecu. My dealer that I bought my bike from said they would cover everything under warranty(even the engine) and I have been totally transparent with them concerning what I do
I know a lot of people feel like they should tell their dealer the ecu is flashed. I can tell you for sure 90% of dealers will blame the flashed ecu for ANYTHING they can not figure out. I have been on the phone with a customers dealer who was blaming my ecu flash on an r6 for a slipping clutch.
In the end its up to you but I can say for 100% certain if your ecu is flashed back to stock the dealer can not tell. When it is flashed back to stock every piece of code is put back to original so ev en if corporate Kawasaki reads the ecu it will come back as unmolested. Some will also refuse to believe this but not much I can do about that.
