LEOs more than likely don't even know such a requirement exists. Kawasaki with its infinite resources should have designed a better option when we are paying exorbitant amount of money for these panniers.
That said this morning in 45F weather I decided to supercharge my way to a egg croissant sandwich and back with just a patagonia down jacket. That's my level of safety I choose.

Might consider this: https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/company-us/ ... 016&rt=rud
There may be a way to put this tape on (it's reflective) and clear. That way you still are abiding the law and it's clear so the true colors of your panniers can shine through. There are some draw backs, the adhesive may become a problem in the future, the vinyl doesn't specifically say that it won't yellow in the sun, and you'll see a seam (unless you pull the green or grey stripe near the bottom of the bag and wrap it).
Just a thought.
Also, there is plastic available in every color imaginable that can be molded at a lower temperature (can't imagine the bags would get to 150 degrees F) https://www.instamorph.com/about.
Just rough up the inner surface with some sandpaper and put the plastic in some hot water (I have used a tea kettle to nearly boil the water) then pull it out mold it, use a putty knife to smooth it out and likely no one could see unless looking for it. It will be waterproof and last the life of your panniers!

Re: Hiding the hole in side bags for US model
Admittedly I didn't study the regs that hypertourer posted, but from what I read, to be in compliance with the letter of the law, the reflectors have to be amber, and I would guess that means DOT approved.
As far as removing the tail reflector goes, to each their own, but I did see an episode of Cops in which the LEO used the lack of a rear reflector as probable cause to stop a guy on a sport bike (California I think). Both the rider and LEO were pretty cool about the whole affair, and the the LEO let the rider off with a verbal warning.

So I bought the smaller sticker that is right in front of the ignition.. it's small enough that I hardly even notice it but it covers the hole perfectly without leaking any water. I haven't bothered to seal the inside of it yet, I don't think I'll have to though!kingroslolo wrote: Sat Nov 03, 2018 8:03 pm What horrible reflector onmodel and a hole if remove!
Look better now...
