Those horrible reflectors might save your ass one day...If I am not mistaken its legal requirement to operate the vehicle in some states.

I would like to get both the ninja emblem and the H2 Crest. Where can I get them?

Legal requirement?? Have you ever been asked by a police officer to put your reflectors back on? Haha. Screw the reflectors. Take em all off.

Look it up bruh...BMW had a recall on my 1200gsa just to put those reflectors on the panniers. Since two wheelers are my only mode of transport for most of the year I will take any and every safety feature I can get. Until automatic cars become mandatory with dedicated lanes.

I was aware of the BMW recall and I agree with your position on the reflectors adding a measure of safety but I don't know if it's actually a violation of the law to remove the reflectors. I plan to get the panniers for my H2SXSE and may end up removing the reflectors if I don't like the looks.

Many will not agree with me but one of the 1st things I do when I get a new bike is remove all the ugly reflectors. I know it's a safety issue but just riding a motorcycle is dangerous and I happily accept all the dangers associated with it. Been doing it this way for 50 years and have been involved in a couple accidents but no reflector would have prevented those. To each his own but personally, I don't like them and they gotta go. Oh, not sure about the legality but it's never been an issue for me, my law problems have always revolved around excessive velocity.

First of all just want to make it clear that those reflectors look ugly as hell. The hole when you remove them is even more ugly especially when filled with grit and other contents. Having those reflectors is USDOT requirment and some state requirment too https://docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/statut ... /347/II/15 - see section347.15 (2). Might not be required in every state but for companies to sell motorcycles they need to have it. BMW wouldn't have issued a recall and Kawasaki or GIVI wouldn't have put those ugly reflectors on the cases if it weren't a requirement. Every company is trying to cut corners so the person on the top of the pyramid can have diamond encrusted teabags, a sex slave for their sex slave or that armor for their guinea pig...

My thoughts:

1) Kawi could have put a much less offensive reflector on the bags. A nice rectangular reflector or something arrow shaped would have likely satisfied the legal requirement.

2) I'm willing to risk whether an LEO notices the missing reflectors on the cases. It's my feeling that they are much more likely to check the rear reflector, which some guys remove when they install a tail tidy. I've run with soft cases on other bikes and never worried that -- lacking amber reflectors -- they were in violation of statutes.

3) I would never remove the rear reflector, but hey, in terms of the reflectors on the cases, millions of European riders can't be all wrong, no?

4) When I told a fellow rider that I was getting cases from Europe to avoid the reflectors, he was a bit shocked. My question to him was, if you lived in Europe, where the side reflectors are not required, would you add them? Why not plaster reflectors all over the dratted bike? Something along the lines of a 1960's Mod's scooter? That would be even safer. Yay!

5) I agree with Zdude. I choose my level of safety. Just because the US government mandates side reflectors be visible on all vehicles doesn't mean that they add a significant measure of safety.

And I think the badge looks nice. The circular reflector looks hideous.
