Its worth the extra price. At first i didnt think so when i was looking to buy. Figured i could add heated grips and quickshifter with aftermarket parts. But decided to go with the se and i have no regrets. The extra features are worth it.

I would have a concern that the base model may be much harder to sell down the road. I get that it’s cheaper so you can sell it cheaper, but used bikes can be a real pain in the ass to sell or trade. When people are looking at a sub $10,000 used bike they are likely to be dead set on the SE. if you keep a bike long enough resale value becomes less of an issue because if it’s in good condition it will bottom out after time. But just a consideration.

I personally will be interested in the base model if I decide to get one, but I can also see myself wanting to add some of the features of the SE, such as the centerstand and heated grips. It then makes it a little more sense to just buy the SE. like Burmashave, I too like gadgets and goodies. Also, I’ve had a few bikes recently, including one now, that the LCD is hard to read in many conditions. The TFT display alone is probably worth it to me. I’m actually hoping my good friend HouTexH2SX does not like his and I can let him take the hit and buy it from him ;). Unfortunately for me he seems to be bonding with it....which is a good thing.

I think they should discontinue the H2SX and make the SX SE available in two color options.

As for the options, I would rate the SE's options as follow:

Quick shifter 10/10
Color scheme 9/10
TFT Display 8/10 (even tho I only use black/white mode)
Launch-control 8/10
Rimstripes 7/10
Heated grips 6/10
Centerstand 6/10
Windscreen 5/10
Cornering lights 4/10

I have a plain SX You can add FACTORY head grips, center stand, 12v plug. The SX already has the cruise. The TFT I think is overrated. I can most of the same things by scrolling thru my display. The quickshifter would be nice but I can live without it. I did and I am very happy. The green did not suit me.

can the quick shifter be added to the SX? I wonder if the leads are there and the ecu enabled. My wife wants a SX mainly for the cruise control but I think she would like the quickshifter.

Different wiring harness and doubtful that the SX display could be configured to turn QS on/off (but that's just me guessing).
