Let's say you are going at highway speed in 6th gear and you downshift to 3rd gear using the QS due to some traffic (CC disengages) and then after a few minutes upshift back to 6th gear using the QS and then hit the resume switch right away--will the resume feature work then? That would be a more real life situation. It seems that I have done that and it does not work, but if I do all of that shifting with the clutch and not the QS it does work.
I get your point, there. I did not test this "use case" on my way home today. So, you concieve CC to store the speed over time and "when you want it back, you get it", when you press the res/+. Got it?

But what I did on my way home, also did not give me a clear picture, unfortunately, and it was definitely not in sync with the quote from the manual.

First test: I was in 4th gear and set CC to 75 kmh. Used QS to get into 3rd gear, causing the CC to disengage and speed to drop rather quickly. On this four lane road (two in each direction) I dared to let the speed drop to 45 kmh (still causing some annoyance among commuters on their way home). I pressed res/+ and acceleration kicked back in again until 75kmh. Now that was way more than a 15kmh drop!

Second test: I was in 3rd gear at 70kmh and shifted to 4th, causing the CC to disengage. On that empty road thru fields I comfortably let speed drop until 40kmh. Taking longer to bleed off than with 3rd gear. Hit the res/+ button. Nothing. White CC Light was on, but nothing.

All I can say now, is that it might be a time issue or an upshift issue or CC doesn't work, when passing below 45 kmh.

As a product manager in the software industry, things like that bug me, unitl I understand them.

Since I like to use CC a lot, I'll devote more time to this issue, though ;-)

Gosh, it now just occurred to me, from this point of view, my bike is just a fucking computer on wheels. Very unromantic! ;-)

And obviously there is a discrepancy in the documentation. That's what I hate the most!

Are you pushing the shifter down with the cruise control engaged/ set or are you using the brake or clutch to disengage it first? The downward quick shift shouldn't work with the cruise control holding the throttle open to maintain speed. I think it might work if the cruise control has the throttle closed such as when going down hill. But I'm not sure.

I tested HouTexH2SX's use case on the Autobahn riding home, today. At 110kmh I set the CC and let it settle for a while. Using the clutch (CC disengaged, immediately) while approaching a construction site, I shifted down to 4th gear and rode thru the site at 60kmh, for about five minutes. Having passed the site, I shifted to 6th gear with clutch assistance (no QS!) and hit the res/+ button. -> Bike started accellerating to 110kmh.

It's true the QS will not work when you have the throttle "physically" open. Meaning your wrist is twisted. I feels like it is "jammed".

My QS test on the following country road part was at 70kmh with CC set and engaged. Throttle not twisted physically and never touching the clutch, I downshifted from 5th to 4th using QS. Yes, this is possible (probably also due to lower rpms) and immediately disengages the CC. With speed dropping to 50kmh I approached a round-about and when leaving it I hit res/+ and bike accellerated to 70kmh in 4th gear. Was a two minute episode.

I fear we still do not have a clear picture here, as to what is really going on. Maybe it is a timing issue on how long the last QS induced gear change happened?

I did more testing today as well.

Engaged CC at 75 mph in 6th gear. After a while rolled throttle forward past stop to disengage CC (set light disappeared) so I could close throttle and downshift with QS. Downshifted to 3rd gear and 45 mph and then after about 10 seconds upshifted back to 6th gear using QS. Immediately hit the resume switch and CC re-engaged back to 75 mph and set light came back on showing this. I then repeated this using the clutch to shift and got the same results. Looks like the 9 mph drop does not erase the CC setting. I also tried waiting a little while to hit the resume switch after upshifitng into 6th gear and it still re-engaged the CC back to 75 mph.

Not sure why my previous results were different, but I could not repeat it. The only time the resume feature did not work was when I slowed to a near stop and the CC did not retain it's setting--not sure at what low speed this happens. Now I'm really puzzled.

I just re-read the CC section of the manual and it says that the set speed is erased when you drop below 22 mph--maybe that's what I was doing prior when I thought that using the QS erased the setting. However, the set speed is NOT erased when you drop 9 mph from the set speed no matter what the manual says.

Has anyone noticed the cruise control letting the speed drop if you lean the bike over too far? I had the cruise control set at 60mph and when going around a corner it was like the throttle was closed and the speed dropped to 57mph. Every time I leaned the bike over past the halfway mark on the lean gauge it did it.

My QS does not work with the cruise control engaged. It acts the same as if I have the throttle twisted physically.

I have to believe you, cOoTeR, but I must oppose, sorry.

I am just coming in from a ride to get new tools (new cool wrench from WERA and nuts) for adjusting the chain and had the CC set to 110kmh on the Autobahn. QS'ed down from 5th thru to 3rd gear. CC disengaged, of course. Kept 60kmh in the intersection to A44 homeward bound. While manually accelerating (the wrist-thing) back to 100kmh (so under the set 110kmh) and QS-ing back to 5th I pressed res/+ and the green set came back on and the bike made it to 110kmh.

I know what the QS feels like "when it won't work". I deliberately tried to use it to down-shift, while accelerating and it is "jammed". No matter how hard you push the lever down. When you close the throttle and try to Up-shift with the QS, it is also "jammed".

But, I think we are beginning to sort things out here, with your reports, HouTexH2SX. Good, you could reproduce that the manual is wrong as per the speed drop. Stopping at a traffic light definitely erases speed settings, I found.

CC allows me to set speeds past 30kmh on the h2sxse, much like the BMW I used to drive. My clumsy Ford Focus will only allow me to set speeds past 50kmh.

We should also look into the lean angle issue, cOoTeR trew in, as well.

Yes, I have. Seems that the lean angle sensor keeps you in check whether you like it or not!

I've had something similar happen. It seemed not so much related to lean angle as quick changes of direction that seem to cause the throttle to close slightly.
