Cruise control help
Cruise control help
How do I activate cruise. Worked last time I was out. Currently out on bike and I press the cruise button and the dash light comes on but no cruise control.... bike just decelerates
Am I missing something obvious.

Re: Cruise control help
Yes, you are missing something. When cruise control is active you still need to set the speed by pressing the "SET/-" button on the left handlebar switch.
On US models cruise control will only activate at 85mph and below. Not sure if that applies to Euro models as well (manual says 200 kph = 124 mph).

Re: Cruise control help
Does the awesome reflash guys ecu that fixes so many things possibly able to raise that? Around here 90mph isnstandard highway speed pretty much in a 75.

Re: Cruise control help
No. The software doesn't give vcyclenut the option to change Cruise Control limit. Here in US we are stuck with 85.Fitz wrote: Tue Oct 16, 2018 7:36 pm Does the awesome reflash guys ecu that fixes so many things possibly able to raise that? Re: Cruise control help
Supposedly, I've not tried it yet though, you can circumvent this by locking in the cruise under 85 mph, then use the + to increment above 85 mph. It just won't let you initially set it if you're over 85 mph.Fitz wrote: Tue Oct 16, 2018 7:36 pm Does the awesome reflash guys ecu that fixes so many things possibly able to raise that? Again, I've not confimed this, someone else posted either here on or FB.

Re: Cruise control help
That doesn't work on the US models. I could get mine to say 86mph but it wouldn't stay thereBoostedOne wrote: Tue Oct 16, 2018 9:10 pmSupposedly, I've not tried it yet though, you can circumvent this by locking in the cruise under 85 mph, then use the + to increment above 85 mph. Re: Cruise control help
While we're on the topic of cruise control help, my minor annoyance with this system is that a momentary press on either the accel or deccel buttons does not bump the speed up or down by 1 MPH as is the case for all the late model cars I have driven with cruise. The manual actually states that a momentary press should bump it up or down:
My second minor annoyance is that the "Set" indication doesn't show the set speed unless you manually crank the throttle up 4-5 MPH above the set speed.
Has anyone else noticed this or figured out how to bump it up/down in increments? It's easy to hold the button down, but then you have to watch the speedo to get it exactly right.H2 SX SE Owner's Manual, page 185 wrote:When the RES/+ button is released

Re: Cruise control help
When I bump the cruise + or - buttons it does change the setting by 1 mph.
I also would like the set speed to always be displayed--not sure why it only does this when you temporarily cancel and then resume.
I've also noticed that when you use the quick shifter you lose your setting and the resume feature does not work.
I did not realize that the cruise control was limited to 85 mph until after I bought the bike and read the manual. I had a '13 FJR1300 that was limited to 80 mph and hated it--when I got my '16 model they changed it to 100 mph.
