When it comes to Sliders, looks are secondary.

I bought them from Vcyclenut. Vcyclenut is a Gifted Tuner in our midst. He flashed my Bike. It is Perfect. It is an honor to do business with him.
I support him and his contributions to this Community.

It was an easy decision to make.

That is all.

Little harder to obtain in Canada thus looking at local options, cost has some relevance if exchange and ship fee and delay is taken into consideration

I wouldn't skimp honestly. Just get woodcraft however you can. It's worth it.

i don't really skimp but there is no feedback for many brand qualified backed by decent R&D budgets as well options, so does that make them inferior or just not yet sold on a not too common bike? But I do agree if a brand such as Woodcraft has been dominant I would expect that to continue

What are people expecting their sliders to actually achieve / prevent?

I have the OEM sliders and am a member of the group that have had to lay their bike down - stationary on a hill and UK roads (shite). The slider remained intact and protected the fairing for 99% from damage. That 1% was from where there was some debris on the road and nicked the angle of the lower fairing. If the road had been smooth, then there would have been no damage to the fairing - so no damage to the frame.
Ideally if the slider protruded from the bike a centimetre / 1/2 inch, then the fairing would have been 100% saved. But then the bike aesthetics would be spoiled for the 1 time when everyone lays down.
I am under no illusion that these sliders will protect the bikes fairing and speed in a low side.

CiscoKid wrote: Fri Oct 30, 2020 3:35 pm Has anyone used or purchased the Givi frame sliders, I am looking to buy a set. I am in Canada so cost is equivalent and w Covid probably cheaper due to shipping from USA where I would like to order the Woodcraft ones from. Vcyclenut , is the price listed for pair of 1. The givi ones are replaceable as well but require the mounting kit to be purchased separate. They look great imho but do they do their job well? I can purchase R&G locally and Puig from same site as the Givi

I purchased the givi sliders. It took me close to a year to get the fitting kit! Bought the sliders from tour and ride (discounted) but the fit kit came from over seas. I wanted something that looked good as well as functional. Hopefully it stays up right! Personally I think if this bike slides down the road at a high speed there’s going to be damage.
I have some pics in the photo thread or I can post a few here as well.

Sliders are not meant to protect your fairings. That's a fringe benefit. They are designed to protect your engine. My old 6R had some other brand sliders until I found woodcraft. They weren't some flimsy cheap thing, but they weren't as good as WC either. The bike went down and the slider bent and the right side of my engine got shredded. Bolts ground down or sheared off, etc.

Woodcraft also has some benefits in terms of reuse. Their pucks are removable and swappable and it takes about 3 seconds to do it. Some other company's have a similar feature but a lot of the time they drill through the top (facing outward) of the puck and bolt in that way. It ends up reducing the contact patch of your puck. I've seen pucks ground down so far that they ground off that bolthead as well and they had to be drilled to be removed.

The front axle sliders actually use a pin. They are super easy to deal with during tire swaps.

If your pucks are not replaceable, they are worthless imo. If they are and their bolt is in a dumb spot that can get rekt, they are also worthless. Im a cheerleader for woodcraft because I know they work. My 6R went through 8 more crashes with WC on and only had to go to the shop once (someone physically clipped my bike with their car).

I'm not an official R&D dept, but life experiences show they have served me well.

You guys do you tho.

If I am riding along and drop the bike enough to cause structural damage then I have insurance to fix things.

/shrug Depends on what you damage and how much it costs. Either way, a puck is cheaper than a deductible, on average.

Getting a good set of sliders is a relatively cheap protection option.

Again, "You guys do you tho."
