I'm curious about what is strapped down under it. It looks like the strap Kawasaki uses to hold down batteries. I wonder if its a legit tool set?

That box is similar in size to the control box for the Annitorri adjustable Quick Shifter I had on my 2012 ZX-10R

I believe what is portrayed in the 3rd image is a Kawasaki ETC 2.0 Unit or similar.

ETC 2.0 would be the abbreviation for the Electronic Toll Collection version 2.0

From my understanding, it's basically some kind of wireless antenna module that your credit card/prepaid card can be inserted into for quick payment at Tolls, Parking, Ferry, Fast Food, ect..

Wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electroni ... collection

Wikipedia Japan (with google translation):
https://translate.google.ca/translate?h ... wiki%2FETC

Here is a similar unit built by Mitsuba:
https://translate.google.ca/translate?h ... etc%2Fbe51

Here is a similar unit built by Mitsubishi Electric:
http://www.mitsubishielectric.com/bu/au ... index.html

The in-vehicle ETC 2.0 unit includes such conventional ETC functions, but is also capable of receiving the wide-area road traffic info, upcoming road information, merge support information, and support information in the event of a disaster. In addition, there is a special highway toll discount granted for ETC 2.0 units.
Features

High-quality, sophisticated design
Compact size that doesn't take up space
Can be installed nearly anywhere (base of driver’s seat, in glovebox, etc.)
ETC 2.0 units provide safe driving support with utilization of ETC2.0 service
ETC 2.0 (EP-B016SRBW/EP-B016SRBD) units display traffic signal info to assist in safe and smooth driving
*A function that works in the navigation when connected to NR-MZ300PREMI/NR-MZ200PREMI-2/NR-MZ200PREMI/NR-MZ200 navigation models.

My guess is that this is something that will be available as an option to the European market..

I have also noticed the 900 RS also came equipped with this module.

And after just a bit more research.. I found the Official Japan Kawasaki ETC accessory page..

For those interested, here is a Shockwave Flash (.swf) video-animation of the functionality of such a module..
*probably incompatible with mobile devices*

Nice find. So it's a device that just sends out payment for stuff on it's own? Sounds like something theives would love to have cruising around on the highways here.

I guess that means there will be plenty of room for a power commander or a Bazaaz in there.

Plenty of room for a power commander seems right to me!
