The manufacturers know that those of us that want all the performance that is available on a new model will get the ecu flashed and extract the true potential of the bike.

When the 2015 r1 came out I had the ability to flash it and knew what gains were going to be had by flashing it before the bike was even released to the public.

This was possible because Graves Yamaha lent a bike to a company that makes flashing equipment so they could develop everything. Graves has a long standing relationship with Yamaha (obviously since they had a preproduction model)and would no way jeopardize their relationship with them over something like this if factory Yamaha was not ok with it.

Flashing an ECU is a safe well proven way to modify a motorcycle that the manufacturers are obviously on board with

Simple solution to this vexing problem, buy a second ECU,flash that, then when u blow up your motor, replace with the original Ecu. Viola! PS thanks guys for hijacking my thread😜

On a side note. Yoshimura got back to me. They will not be doing a full system either. So no yoshimura system for me :(

The stock can is just too hideous. What were they thinking?
Hey Tex, could you do us all a favor and post up a video of what it sounds like?? I'm considering the Alpha slip on but I'm also thinking about the Brock's slip on. Not sure which one I'll go with just yet. Still doing my research. Any help would be appreciated.

I was going to refer you to Yoshimura's website where they have that same video. I would say it's pretty accurate.

I’m curious how load this will be straight piped. Been debating getting the zx10r headers, the yoshimura exhaust and having a shop fabricate a mid pipe and join them together. If its anything like my zx10r was, its pretty loud. Which i dont really want. Was pretty happy with my akrapovic on my zx14r so maybe ill go that route.

Just a heads up so that your shop knows ahead of time. The catalytic converter is welded to the header pipe and there are 2 sections of catalytic material in there.
