Rattling noise... compressor chain

Hi everyone,

I have a rattling noise at low rpm coming from my engine when i release the throttle.

At first i throught it was the drive chain but the noise reduce a lot when i pull the clutch in.

I only have 1600 km(1000 miles). The CCT of my compressor is already dead or it's completely normal ?

i have the same noise almost like coming where the air induction tube and feels like a rattle when i release the throttle , it doesn do at high rpms only low rpms. Lets see if anyone else has it . I have 2200 miles.

I have it to. I wrote it off as normal as this bike is a completely different platform then my other bikes. Figured it had something to do with the superchsrger.

I am having the same noise coming in at low revs disappears once the revs go up , occasionally quite noticeable when first pulling away sometimes goes away when the clutch is pulled in, I was a bit worried at first , it really doesn't sound right, in fact it makes the bike sound as though it is running a bit rough only covered 300 miles, does anyone have an explanation to this , as this is the only thing that spoils my ride at the moment , I would have thought it has something to do with it being supercharged , but would like some explanation just for peace of mind ,thank you

Kawasaki's Are known for having loud cam chains. I don't see why the supercharger chain would be any different. The fix on the ZX-10R was to remove the cam chain tensioner and reset it, that would get rid of the noise. My bike is making the noise I just haven't had a chance to mess with it.

I too have the noise. It started at about 400miles. I had my dealer check it at the first service. My bet they didn’t check at all. A bit comforting to know I’m not the only one.
I notice mine at speeds around 35-50mph.

the thing is if everyone has the same noise or not , surely a new bike should not be doing this , is this normal or will it cause problems later on , my bike has only 300 miles a new bike and has been doing it from day one , starting to worry me a bit now

Reset your cam chain tensioner it will probably go away.

thanks for the advice but I don't have a clue how to do that , should the bike need the chain tensioner reset when it is a new bike ???

Everyone has the same noise, including myself and it does getting annoying and makes me second guess if the bike is running right. That being said, kawasaki’s are famous for the kawi tick. Now we have another chain and cct for the supercharger. What you need to remember is the chains do stretch as it breaks in and the cct will eventually taie up the slack automatically.
