$6.25 per horsepower - are you serious!

Post by Zdude » Fri Aug 31, 2018 4:09 pm

I've now had my SXSE flashed by Vcyclenut and it performs exactly like David said it would. 40 hp for $250, is this for real? All I can say is, if you have an H2SX and have not made any modifications, don't waste anymore time, get the ECM to David before he rightfully decides to raise the price of a "lifetime" flash. He will reflash your bike for any additional mods you've made included in the original purchase! Now I have to say the bike ROCKS with the flash and my new Yoshimura slip-on. Full power mode is wild and very aggressive, power everywhere, just make sure your holding on tight when you nail it or else - LOL! Sportbike mode is where I'll be most of the time, same power as full mode just delivered in a more "civilized" fashion, easier to modulate the power, no surprises mid-corner, just like he said it would be. Guys, I've been riding these type bikes over 45 years starting with the original Z1 and I've only had 1 or 2 that were tuned this good, the man knows what he is doing. Am I impressed, well DUH! Turn around was as quick as I could hope for and David was very efficient and just great to work with - very professional. We are lucky to have someone with this ability and interest in this particular bike. Don't mean to "gush" but dammit, the guy is good and he has my attention, that's for sure. Thanks David, can't wait to see what you get with the full pipe systems being released. One other thing to add is the Yoshimua "Alpha" slip=on is one of the best sounding exhaust I've heard on any bike, mine is carbon fiber and has a deep sound that is extremely pleasant, not too loud, just right. Man, I love this bike - thank you Kawasaki, thank you Vcyclenut and thank you Yoshimura!

Drnick, I had one ordered from Revzilla, been waiting a couple months than found out Motosport had them available. Canceled Revzilla and ordered through Motosport, had it within about 4 days. There is no removable baffle, however with the cat in our bikes the sound is not too loud, just awesome. Actually, at Interstate speed, I really don't hear it much unless I twist it good. IMHO the sound is perfect, deep and not annoying. Yosh has a video with sound on Youtube that gives you an idea of how it sounds.

Zdude. There is no small rubber plug on the side of the carbon cone, that would give u access to a screw or nut that can remove baffle? On my yosh R77 cans there were access plugs on side of cone to remove baffle.

Good stuff.

I'm also probably going the Yoshi Alpha + flash route this winter (or spring).

The Vandemon (pannier compatible version) is just not doing it for me, price (!!!!), style, design, etc. And the slash pipe isn't an option at all, too loud, doesn't work with panniers, etc. $2000 for 12-18 hp is outside my bang for the buck wheelhouse.

Hey, I picked up groceries the other day on my 185 mph bike, I need my bags. So don't hate.

I'm just curious if anyone has dyno'd their bike (before and after) the vcyclenut flash. I know he's done baseline and after, but would be nice to have data from other bikes/dynos.

I just read the removal instructions for the ECU. Holy Moly!! I can't believe it take so much to get the ECU off?

Silver1, yes the removal of so many panels and fasteners to reach the ECM is daunting. Basically, I removed the entire right side fairing completely, loosened the left side too because I had to remove and clean my Sprint filter. There is a bolt that holds the nose fairing to the main frame that had to be removed to pull the entire fairing assembly forward, it is located between the instrument pod and the triple tree. Once this is pulled forward you can access the metal cage the ECM is enclosed by, this has to be opened, I removed mine completely to get to all bolts needed removing to free the ecm - a royal pain in the ass but worth it for the end result. Assembly in reverse is difficult but just take your time and double check everything to make sure you don't miss plugging something in like I did requiring another hour of removing parts you just put back on! I used bungie cords to support the left side fairing that I did not completely remove for the time to send the ECM for flashing. Not fun but really shows how much thought Kawasaki put into making this bike so well put together.
As far as dynoing my bike, it didn't happen but from just riding the bike I can say the difference is easily recognized. I quoted 40 hp increase as what is advertised with charts showing improvement and after riding it several days now I find no reason to doubt this figure. My friend has an FJR1300 that is piped and tuned and we did some roll-ons when my bike only had the Sprint filter installed and know how the H2SXSE pulled away from that bike, we will be doing that again in a few days so that will show the difference. I will post how that result changes to reflect the Flash and slip-on difference.

I notice that the Yoshimura Alpha slip-on does not come with a heat shield like the OEM and Akrapovik cans. Are you feeling any excessive heat on your right foot/leg without this?

Have not noticed any heat on the right foot and I've put some miles on in 90* days now but I also wear boots so don't know if I'd really notice unless it was an extreme problem.
