The new part is on top
Doesn't look like the external weld goes all the way around. So much for sealing the space from corrosion.

Motorcycling is not, of itself, inherently dangerous. It is, however, extremely unforgiving of inattention, ignorance, incompetence, or stupidity

How about drilling a small hole in the pin and then a small hole next to it and safety wire it until the new part arrives?

If it's welded well on both sides it probably doesn't matter if it corrodes some in between.

I just called my dealer and they said no recalls based on my VIN. Mine look like everyone else's. Just welded on the back.

What is the bracket and pin made of? Aluminum? I got a feeling kawasaki canada wont issue a recall. Might take it to get welded myself

With the rusting in the pictures, I kinda think it's steel. Which would be better for welding, in my amateur fabricator opinion.

If i can get my hands on a rear stand i have zero issues removing the centre stand completely and never using it. Added benifit of weight reduction lol. But until i get a rear stand, gotta make do.

If the centerstand has never been exposed to water (or even high humidity) would it make sense to seal that open area with liquid electrical tape or silicone seal to prevent moisture from getting in there in the first place?

If it is indeed a corrosion and not a structural issue then this should do a trick in the interim.

I emailed Kawasaki Canada. They got back to me pretty quick. There will be a recall nation wide in Canada. They are just gathering parts and notifying dealerships. They asked for to confirm my address to send the recall notice out to me.
