H2 SX/SX SE recall
Re: H2 SX/SX SE recall
I just got off the phone with my dealer, still nothing on my bike. I haven't had a chance to look at the back, hopefully mine is welded like that as well. That is basically what I was going to do anyway.Champ87 wrote: Fri Sep 07, 2018 12:46 amYes, it does seem unbelievable so I went and looked. The pin for the side stand is welded but I was surprised not to see a weld for the center stand.Drnick wrote: Thu Sep 06, 2018 2:54 am Wow! Its just pressed in! Unbelievable ! Well, thats a simple fix.
But wait a minute. A quick check on the back face of the plate and there it is - some weld.
Pin for center stand spring is welded on the back face of the mount.
If I see a recall notice or the dealer contacts me then I'll take it in for sure. For now though mine looks sound so I'm not feeling any real concern.

Re: H2 SX/SX SE recall
Hi- should be collecting my new h2 sx se this weekend but delayed due to the centre stand recall. Parts on the way (hopefully) so maybe collect next weekend. I would expect existing owners to be contacted very soon. If there is any reason Kawasaki might not be able to write to you - contact them directly.
I don’t know any details of the problem but probably sensible to get your dealer to check your bike.

The picture of the failed pin that roadczar posted looks like some rusting of the pin itself may have caused the failure. Mine is welded on the backside but I'm still nervous--probably needs to be welded on the frontside as well to prevent water intrusion.

Mine is welded at the back and in good shape. Haven't received any emails or letters from Kawasaki. I see a recall in Spain and Germany, maybe soon in France.

Just got the letter from Kawasaki.
They inform that the pin is not welded properly. Therefore it must be replaced.
So the pin is welded. Not just inserted!

Re: H2 SX/SX SE recall
Kawasaki sent me an email yesterday and today I received a registered letter (!) informing of the recall. They seem to be taking this seriously. Called my dealer and he said it would take some time before he would be having the left plate with the pin. According to him and the official letter, that's what's going to be replaced.HouTexH2SX wrote: Fri Sep 07, 2018 9:07 pm The picture of the failed pin that roadczar posted looks like some rusting of the pin itself may have caused the failure. Checked that plate on my bike after I got off the phone and the weld on the back side looks actually nicely done. But I think HouTexH2SX has a point here. On the front side you can see a gap around the peg, which is definitly an entrance for corrosive stuff.
Can anyone post a picture of the replacement plate as soon as he has one? I'll do so, as soon as I have it on my bike.
