My guess...it's going to take wiring up a relay of some sort to keep cruise control and brake lights with the Brembo master.
Brembo master cylinder install - brake switch?
Brembo master cylinder install - brake switch?
Working on installing a Brembo master cylinder on my bike. It comes with the traditional 2-wire brake switch. The SX has a 3-wire brake switch. Anyone figure this out yet? I'm guessing it's ground, cruise control cancel, and brake light. Have to figure out what's normally closed or open, what happens if both are just run through 1 switch? Must be a reason there's 3 wires and not just 2 for switching purposes.

Yes, cruise control cancel. Strangely the clutch and rear brake use a separate switch for that function so maybe there is a way to rig something using one of those switches attached to front brake.kman0066 wrote: Thu Aug 30, 2018 1:50 am Anyone figure this out yet? What about other machines that use the Brembo MC and have electronic cruise control. Anything come to mind? What do they use?

It's amazing how fast you can go when you take your time.
Re: Brembo master cylinder install - brake switch?
Found the wiring diagram in the manual, uggg:
BMW I think would be the likely option here for a similar problem, haven't found anything good yet though other than Brembo saying their Master doesn't work with Cruise Control ><
I know worst case, a relay to flip the ground or not ground would work, but that's 1 more part to fail along with all the req'd wiring and the last thing I would want is cruise control stuck on.
...Or I run a normally closed switch on the master and a normally open switch with one of those banjo bolt switches...hmmm

Re: Brembo master cylinder install - brake switch?
i did before For Yamaha mt10 sp with cruise control I install RCS19 with the switch you can parallel connect them, its probably the Cruise and brake light sharing one Negative, but I could be wrong you can parallel. About the normally open normally close bit you have to install it. the Brembo comes with the normally open switch as far as I remember. I don't think you need to use two switches. not necessary. Can I ask when you plug the switch is the brake light stays on and when you brake its close the brake light?

i like to change the Calipers and the brake master with Brembo the only reason i didn't yet because i couldn't be bothered with Brembo switches.

Re: Brembo master cylinder install - brake switch?
The switch that comes with the Brembo master would work for the brake lights. The problem is that the cruise control would never work, or rather braking would no longer stop cruise control. I did some looking around at the manufacturer of the switch from Brembo (Marquadt) and I've found a switch that should work. I ordered it and it seems to fit the Brembo master perfectly. Hopefully I'll get a chance to install this week. If I get it working and have the time, I'll post up the ordering info for the switch.
Also had to order a new Banjo fitting as the Brembo comes with a dual line bolt...

ok so even if you parallel connect them cruise control doesn't want to work with the Brembo switch then. Can you let me know what switch you used may be a picture of the setup ? thank you !

You could use a relay that connects BK to BL when R is not energized.

In other words, you have a switch that works in reverse. It is energized when the switch is not depressed kicks the relay when the lever pulls the switch.

Re: Brembo master cylinder install - brake switch?
Yeah, was hoping to not have to wire up a relay. Found this guy: Marquadt 1022.2201 switch. Looks to be the right thing. Just had to clip the fake switch tab/actuator tang off the new switch. The switch that comes with the Brembo master is a Marquadt 1022 different version with just 2 wires, but there's a whole line of switches in the exact same size. Still need a good evening to mount this thing now...57x wrote: Wed Sep 12, 2018 2:48 am You could use a relay that connects BK to BL when R is not energized.
