H2sx vs. Ninja 1000 and or ZX14r
Hi guys. Old man here (45) 6'3" tall 225lbs with a 32" inseam. Bought a 2015 Ninja 1000 new in 2015 because I wanted something comfortable but still fairly quick. Riding position was great but I hated the seat. My butt hurt on the 60 mile ride home from the dealer. I switched to the Kawasaki gel seats and they were better but not great. Shortly after the wife decided she wanted to start riding with me and the 1000 became too slow but more importantly too cramped for the two of us. I sold it and got a 2015 ZX14r. Love this bike. The seat was better mainly because it was big and soft but still hurt on long rides. Put a Sargent seat on it and love it. Riding position is more sporty than the 1000 but comfortable for me doing 300-400 mile days. Most important me and the wife fit on it together comfortably. Also did a Zero Gravity double bubble wimdscreen and a Brocks Alienhead 2 exhaust. We put 13k on her in 2 years riding just on Sundays. She is still out in the garage right now but totaled. Another biker ran off the road in front of us 2 weeks ago and when he tried to get back on the road he lost control and his bike slid right into our path. We hit his bike at 55 and flipped the 14. We were both thrown a good ways. I am ok except for a broken collar bone and road rash. The wife had a bleed on her brain but that went away. She now just has bruising and road rash. Honestly lucky to be alive. I am waiting for insurance to settle with me on the 14. It is paid for so I will get a decent amount for it, the accessories, and our gear. I am seriously considering a sx se. Looks like performance wise it is close enough to the 14 and with a flash probably faster. I really want to know how you guys think it compares comfort wise. (Especially 2 up) to either or both the 1000 and 14. If the seat sucks I can either send it out or wait until Sargent makes one for it. I'm mainly concerned about being cramped. I do probably have 2-3 months before I will be able to ride again so I have plenty of time for research. Also a local dealer has a demo so I will be able to rode the demo before making a decision. Also in a few months the 2019's should be out so I can see if Kawasaki changes anything on the ZX14r (doubt they will) and also rumors are Suzuki will have an all new Hayabusa for 2019 so we will see. Thanks for the input and advice in advance.

Re: H2sx vs. Ninja 1000 and or ZX14r
Before H2SX SE I had two ZX-14's. One Gen1 and one Gen2 after that. When I was test driving the bike, H2SX was just slightly better than ZX, but the stock accesorries made the choice for me - cruise control, heated grips and quickshifter to be precise. When test driving it I wasn't aware how much more fun this bike will be compared to ZX14. Now, 10k kilometers in I can safely say this is the best bike i've owned and it beats 14s by far. The weight distribution is much better, when driving to work, in the city jams it feels like 600, while on the road it's like a full litre. The seat takes some time to get used to it. Me for example while doing 30min test drive back in april, I was tired and my legs and my butt hurt, but now after spending some time on the bike I don't think ZX14 is more comfortable. I did 600kilometer ride the other day on H2SX with just 2 5minute breaks for refuelling and I could probably do more, wasn't tired at all. My record on ZX14 was 1697 kilometers in one sitting with breaks to refuel, rest and eat something and I think H2SX would tire me less with it's seat. I cannot say how comfortable the bike is when riding with 2 people, always ride it alone, but when some of my friends tried themselves on the rear seat they said the position is better and more comfortable than on ZX-14. Guess you'll have to demo it to know
But the bike is worth it. I had a dilemma, 3rd ZX-14 or this and now I'm very, VERY happy I took H2 cause i'd regret it.

Zx14r second generation is definitely faster and accelerates harder however doesn't have no cornering abs, cruise control , panniers , comfort or electronics to match up the H2 SX so as a Zx14r second gen X rider, i will buy the SX SE.

The only takeaway from your post is that you say you are “old” at 45. I’m 65. You can see in my signature what bikes I have. I’m mostly on this forum right now because the guy I ride with every week just bought an H2 SX. He’s older than me. BTW, we have both owned Ninja 1000s. I have test ridden an H2 SX, but not enough miles to weigh in.

I own a H2SX and have owned a ZX14R. You state you ride 2 up. My concern is that the 14 has a flat seat and the H2SX the rear is raised. This is a huge difference and something you definitely want to assess before purchase. Solo rider, the H2SX wins!

I should be ok there. I have the Sargent seat on the 14 and it's multi level even though it's 1 piece.dehaile wrote: Tue Jul 31, 2018 6:30 pm I own a H2SX and have owned a ZX14R. We're both stock? Because I would put my money on a flashed H2 SX over a zx14r from a roll any day. I think from a standstill it will be up to the rider.THOR wrote: Wed Aug 01, 2018 12:37 pmriding them back to backcOoTeR wrote: Wed Aug 01, 2018 1:26 amWhere are you getting this information?THOR wrote: Tue Jul 31, 2018 12:45 pm Zx14r second generation is definitely faster and accelerates harder however doesn't have no cornering abs, cruise control , panniers , comfort or electronics to match up the H2 SX so as a Zx14r second gen X rider, i will buy the SX SE.
The reason I say that is the H2 SX is very deceptive in its power delivery. It's very smooth so it doesn't feel as fast. Also since out doesn't have an abrupt power delivery like most 1000+cc bikes it's easier to go full throttle sooner. Also 50ish more wheel horse power is only a flash away which runs about $275 starting out.
Mine will keep even with a full bolt on, geared and flashed R1M down the straight away at the track I go to. That's the only bike I've been around so far that is close to keeping up in a straight line.

Not even close. My SX feels significantly slower compared the to my gen 2 ZX14R.
