I had a Ninja 1000 and also hated the stock seat. I got a Sargent seat for it and loved it. It was more dished shaped than the stocker and kept me from sliding into the tank and spread out the pressure on my butt cheeks. I wish they made a seat for the H2 SX because that is the same exact problem I have with the SE seat. Seems like Kawasaki just hasn't figured this out.

Maybe you’ll hate the bike and make me a great deal on it in a year ;)

What kind of bikes are you used to riding? I think Kawasaki just went for a more sport style seat than most people expect from a sport touring bike. Overall the SX is definetly more sport than touring.

I currently have a '16 Yamaha FJR1300 and an '18 KTM Super Duke R but I had an '09 Ducati 1198S that I bought new and kept until 2016 so I am used to riding sport bikes. The Ducati seat was rock hard and thinly padded but was comfortable because it was flat and wide and did not make me slide into the tank. The Super Duke seat is also hard and thinly padded but the nose comes up at the tank so it tilts you back more and keeps pressure on your butt cheeks instead of your perineum. That is the problem with the SE seat--it needs to rise up more at the tank and be less crowned there and in order to do this it needs to be scooped out a little and made more dish shaped but not so much as to loose much more leg room. I will probably send it to Sargent to modify.

I went for a ride this morning and after only about 50 miles I was in pain--this is not acceptable. I currently have 575 miles on the bike and will be taking it in for the 600 mile service this week.

It doesn't sound like it's any better so that's not an option for me.

Sargent
don't make a seat specifically for the H2 SX but if you send them your seat they will do a custom foam upgrade. You can ask them to change foam density, seat thickness and shape or even a new cover all added to your existing seat base.

Yes, I know, and that's what I plan on doing.

If you look at the posts above and below you can guess that the OP and I are very close friends. I've had many Sargent seats. I just had them take my Superduke GT seat and rebuild it into a "Sargent" seat. It cost $334 (just the front seat) and you would not guess that it is not a standard seat for them. And I paid for a couple of upgrades at that price. It is about a three week turnaround.
