Interesting. Who make the approval? A link please?
As far as I can see the marking is identical for SportAttack and RoadAttack. Both marked with "Z" and "W".

This according to Delticom AG, my online shop for motorbike tires.

I'm going to barely get 2000 miles on my stock S21's. I'm going to try the Pirelli Angel GTs next. The lighter non aspec version. I'll let you guys know how that goes. I was able to get ~ 6600 miles on my Super Duke 1290 with these and not impact to performance.

if I was living in the US, UK, Norway, etc. I wouldˋt spend a second about what tire to use. Any tire will handle your low speed and will work as long as the weight requirements, etc. are fulfilled.
The H2 SX has also no legal limitation as bikes had in earlier years. So basically you can use any tire which meets the requirements in terms of size, speed indication and weight.
Anyway, in Germany bike and tire manufacturers do test their tires on almost all bikes and publish „recommendations“.
Most of the riders stick to these as when riding longer time with 240 to 299 Km/h one would like to feel save.

By the way, Continental refuses to approve the RoadAttack 3 for the H2 SX.

You can find „the requirements“ on the bike manufacturers and tire franchisers websites.

e.g. www.mopedreifen.de the biggest bike tire franchiser in Germany

I don't really care about such "recommendations". If the tyre is marked with a "W", I think it will be suitable for high speeds. Any tire with that mark can go 250 + in an hour or two. (I was in Germany this summer, that's how I know :D )

The grip is excellent, especially in wet, and that is the most important thing for me. Lean angle on dry 51/50 left/right with no loss of grip.
Mileage is ok, app 8000 km (5000 miles)
OEM tires (S21) lasted 3400 km (2100 miles) and that is too low mileage.
I am on my second pair of RoadAttack 3 now, but next time I will probably try Michelin Road 5.

There is no black or white but using a tire with „an approval“ makes one feel better.
I remember a test of a MV Agusta where the tire got destroyed at high speed.

Itˋs not only about the speed index. Itˋs also about the weight and other parameters.
The tire manufacturers do offer often various versions with different carcasses. Why? Because some tires do not work well on certain bikes. Even though the speed index is correct.

I want to be on the safe side. Gives a better feeling at high speeds.

12700 kms later my Angel GT A-Spec tires are worn to the bone.

I can tell you right now that my next set will be identical Angel GT A-Spec.

I have not once had the tire slip on me in those 12700 kms.
Leaning 59 degrees - no slip whatsoever.

My tire would of have probably lasted 15000kms had I not done several small burnouts and many more drag races.
I ride hard on most given days.

Nice to know on the Angel GT's. I just mounted mine a few days ago. I hope to get similar results as you. I chose the non A-spec version since i don't do 2 up or carry much. So far so good. II have not noticed any difference in performance.
