TFT display brightness

Post by JMod45 » Sun Jul 22, 2018 12:41 am

Has anyone noticed the TFT display on the SE dimming automatically?

I was riding home last night as it was getting dark, noticed the display was a little too bright. Before I had a chance to pull over and dim it, I realized it wasn’t bright anymore.

Then I realized every time I went under a street lamp, the display got bright, then dimmed after I passed it.
This happened about 5 or 6 times before I took a different road. I couldn’t reproduce this under the lights near my house, but it was darker out by then.

I didn’t think the displays had an auto brightness function to them. Has anyone else noticed?

Yes, it has an ambient brightness sensor in the ring of LEDs around the tach. You can also set brightness manually.
