Test riding an SX Wednesday

Post by Turbo810 » Mon Jul 16, 2018 4:35 pm

I am test riding an H2 SX Wednesday. I currently have a 2012 ZX14 and am 51. What should I expect from this bike? Those who currently or have had both, will this be a good replacement for the 14? Or should I be looking at keeping both?

This does not help you at all but I wish someone in my area would allow test drives. I see you are in Ohio and I am very jealous you get to ride one before hand. I had to plop down a non refundable deposit to secure one and will have to put the rest of the purchase price, sign the dotted line and then live happily ever after with the bike (I hope and am confident it will be great).

I know the salesman. He informed me the rep is bringing one in. I have gotten to a point in life if I can't ride it or drive it i won't buy it. I have had a lot of bikes and cars and am tired of throwing away thousands every time I'm not happy.

It won't feel as fast because it's more smooth. All around it's a better bike.

i have had several zx14r, traded one in on a H2SX a few weeks ago.
If I kept the 14, I would probably never ride it again.
The H2Sx has all the features the 14 needed, with a more relaxed riding position.

I had a 2013 zx14r abs. It was a great bike that I made better by adding touring things that my H2SX already has. The H2SX is better in almost every category especially handling and looks. (although I did like the look of my white zx14r) The 14R has more torque in the mid range until you flash the SX. Its a tough call. I would say the H2 is 20 percent better, not night and day better. That said, I would sell a 14R for the SX.

I don't know whether this is superfluous or not, but do yourself the favor and spend the extra money on the SE version. You get the Quickshifter and the TFT screen. Who cares about the curve lights and the rest are options you can add on anyway, like the main stand (handy for chain drive service) or heated grips (great in fall or early spring). Man, the quickshifter(!!), when accellerating onto the Autobahn is terriffic!!

rev to 6500 rpm's, just change gears and you're at 270kmh in next to nothing! It's like a magic carpet ride!

The launch control is yet to be tested. From what I read so far, also very demanding!

Well I didn't come away feeling I had to have one.

I hated the seat. And it was buzzy over 80 MPH. I also think it needs bar risers.

It has good power with smooth delivery(not as much as the 14). The TFT dash is fantastic.

All in all I like it. But I don't need to have over what I already have.

i am wondering are you actually test riding a SX SE or SX , because people just assume the Sx standard model doesn't exist.
