I had a guy flash my 2013 ZX14R a few years back and purchased the entire package from him that included the block off plates, 4 into 1 Akrapovic pipe and last a Power Commander with the fuel & timing remap I assume, the package worked great and produced probably the best tuned bike I have ever been on. Now my question, why did this require a Power Commander if these adjustments can be made in the ecu? In my opinion, I would think doing it in the ecu would be by far the better option, just 1 less thing that could cause a problem not to mention having to install another device on bikes that already don't have a lot of extra space . I have wondered about that before and the only thing I come up with is that if you sell the bike you could remove the pipe and PC to sell seperate while the bike would almost be stock again with the exception of limiters, fan control and other things of this nature. You know who I'm talking about and his tuning process sounds very similar to yours in that he doesn't just Dyno-tune a bike but rather uses that tool in addition to many miles of street riding to fully develope the characteristics that make riding a much enhanced and actually safer experience.

this would be a question much better answered by him but my guess is he is comfortable and knows how to work with a power commander and had not learned how to use the flashing equipment that is available.

There is zero advantage to using the PC. Yes you can remove it and sell it but you should not have had to buy it in the first place.

A flash can always be returned to stock. I charge nothing to flash a bike back to stock, just pay for the return shipping

I'm pretty sure I know who you're referring to and I believe he doesn't use the PCV anymore. The first generation of flashes he produced he would flash a generic tune to an ECU and have the fuel tables set to the PVC so owners could have thier maps modified for different exhaust setups . I had my Ninja 1000 flashed by him (what a difference!!!) he spent months tuning that things and he would also go to the extent of BUYING the bike to produce the tune, too bad he will not be working on the H2SX.

On the other hand.. I'm really glad we have vcyclenut that happens to own the bike and be a tuner at the same time.

Jon, one of the reasons I choose to have him tune my 2013 ZX14R was that he , himself (like Vcyclenut has an H2SXSE) owned a ZX14R as his personal streetbike and I know he spent a heck of a lot of time perfecting that bike. I swear it was the best tuned bike I have ever had the pleasure to set my arse on. HP and torque were over the top but what REALLY impressed me was how smooth and responsive the bike was after his work, pure joy. All this is the reason I will be having Vcyclenut flash my H2SXSE because of the method he uses is virtually the same as the other guy and reading all the comments from H2 owners back that up. Great deal that just can't be beat, all this for $250! We owe it to this man to support his efforts and skill.
