His bike has a full Muzzy 4 / 1 exhaust and a Power Commander that is dialed in. My H2SXSE was stock except that I had put a Sprint filter in it, no re-flash at that time, my bike had about 1000 miles on it than. FJR is not a race bike but is tuned more towards mid-range & low end so we were both impressed how badly the H2 ran off from him.
I just bought my 2018 H2SXSE a month ago but I've been sick plus the weather hasn't cooperated so I only have a little over 500 miles on the clock. I've been reading a lot of threads concerning the H2SXSE and it seems lots of riders have installed a sprint filter so my question is what advantages does the sprint filter offer over the standard OEM filter. Thanks
The previously mentioned HP gain is nice, but I bought the Sprint filter because it's cleanable, and reusable. This thing sucks up dirt, and trash, from the air at a stunning rate. Replacing with the OEM filter at the rate required would be hideously expensive.
Thanks this is good information to know in addition to the HP gains. I'll have to checkout the sprint filter when it comes time to change the OEM filter out. Which filter are the majority of folks using? The P08 or the F1? There's a significant cost difference between the two, I don't do track days and have no intention to race, just basically cruise so for my style of riding which filter would best meet my needs.

I bought the cheaper one, don't do track days and feel it is the better choice if your not after that last 1/2 hp but would rather have the superior filtration.

Like a few others, I went with the cheaper version. Consider buying it from vcyclenut, a fellow member of this site. He has an H2 SX SE himself.

Motorcycling is not, of itself, inherently dangerous. It is, however, extremely unforgiving of inattention, ignorance, incompetence, or stupidity

From your perspective why is the F1-85 totally worth it? What advantage does it offer over the standard Sprint filter.

I am on the fence over which one to buy. From the description the only difference I see if the water barrier on the F1. I wish I could say I have never been caught in driving rain for 8 hrs on a bike but I cannot.

So is the standard filter not waterproof, washable or reusable? If I get caught in a downpour am I going to have issues with the standard filter?
