What have you raced and what was the result.
Re: What have you raced and what was the result.
I went to a half mile event over the weekend got a few races in. One of the first things I noticed was the elevation being 1,655 ft lower than where I normally ride made the bike harder to launch. The front wheel was really coming up pretty suddenly. It was like having a pogo stick on the front of the bike. As soon as the front wheel would touch the ground it would come back up until I got into 4th gear. That's with the launch control and TC on.
I started the day with about a 1/4 tank of 91oct so I was trying to run it out before switching to the race fuel tune. My best standing 1/2 mile on pump gas was 178mph. Switching to the race fuel the front lifted sooner but in a smoother more controlled manner so if I short shifted 1st TC was able to bring it down smoothly in 2nd and 3rd. My best race fuel run was 188mph. For comparison my best run at the same location but with a 330ft rolling start zone on my 2012 ZX-10R was 175mph. That bike was lowered strapped, 2/3 exhaust, filter, quick shifter, tune and -1,+2 gearing.
I had a few races with notable machines.
A few hellcats and I beat them all.
A 1,050whp twin turbo camaro never saw him behind me.
A hayabusa that was lowered slipon tuned quick shifter maybe more. He got out ahead of me off of the line as I was trying to ease into it to prevent wheeling. But I ran him down. It was one of my slower passes at 168mph.
A lowered BMW HP4 all carbon fiber body work, carbon fiber wheels. It looked like it was full bolt on but not sure what all those come with stock. Was way ahead of him from the start. Never saw him.
A 2015 H2. Might have been lowered owner claimed it was exhaust filter and tuned. Rider was probably at least 80lbs lighter than me. I got a way better start and beat him to the line. But if we had the same start he would have crushed me. I ran a 166mph that run and he was in the 180s. Later in the day he hit 200mph.
I put racefuel in it a few runs later and switched to my racefuel tune towards the end of the day. Ran a few corvettes and hellcats that I never saw after the start.
I ran a 1,500hp Nissan GTR. We started the same but I got out ahead. I was ahead most of the track despite hitting the rev limiter twice. He came around me at the very end of the run in the last 60ft. That run was in the low 180s.
My best run for the day was 188mph in the standing half mile. As the event wound down I got several back to back solo runs. Next time I go I'm going to lower and strap the bike and see what it'll do.

Did you try 2 at all? I know 3, you can damn well bounce off the limiter and dump the clutch and it wont lift the wheel at all.

Hey Zdude, you were in Bryson, NC last week? Last weeks weather seemed better than this week so good on you for going! I love all that area .... so much fun to ride .... on pretty much anything. Were you on 74?Zdude wrote: Mon Jul 09, 2018 9:08 pm On a deserted 4 lane outside of Bryson City, N.C. last week I rolled on with my friend's 2009 FJR1300, piped and tuned. Roll-on was from 40, me 6th, he 5th gear and the SX immediately pulled away easily and as the rpms raised, it became worse quickly up to about 120. we were talking through our Sena's and I think it shocked him because he thought his FJR's torque would keep it close or that he would most likely pull me at 1st. My bike was right at 1000 miles on the odometer and it feels like its getting stronger as the miles add on, about 2000 now.
With some advance notice I may be able to meet you at some point... PM me if you can a couple weeks in advance if you are interested.

Good report cOoTeR. 178 mph on pump gas is serious speed to hit within a mile. More so if you're fighting to keep the front down off the line. Can't argue with timing slips.

Re: What have you raced and what was the result.
Hey Diesel , the quote on me above was from last summer just weeks after I bought the H2SXSE. My FJR buddy and I are planning a Deal's Gap run in the near future, no date yet. We like some of the roads around Bryson better than the Dragon's Tail, usually ride the Dragon twice each trip, when I get there and when I leave - LOL. Just too crowded and too patrolled for my liking but man there are loads of great riding in the area. Hellbender 28 is a good one that leads up to the Gap's Crossroad Store and Motel. Weather up here in Ohio is showing hints of summer so the excitement is buildingdieseldad60 wrote: Tue Apr 02, 2019 4:13 pmHey Zdude, you were in Bryson, NC last week? Re: What have you raced and what was the result.
Roll raced a S1000RR from 30mph/50kmh to maybe 125mph/200kmh - both stock and in third gear. Depending on who got on the throttle first would gap the other bike at the beginning. First try the BMW took off about one bike length, I could keep up but couldn't reel him in.
Second try I gaped him for two bike lengths, this time he kept up but couldn't close the gap. So seem quite equal in this speed range.
