Rotobox wheels

Post by Lentz » Wed Jun 27, 2018 1:33 am

I'm trying to put together a group buy on Rotobox wheels for the H2 SX. Frankly, I kind of barfed on the Rotobox wheels until I saw a set in person and on a bike. They look much better in person than in pictures. I've had both BSTs (on a BMW) and Dymags (on a Kaw) and the Rotobox's look to be higher quality to me. Just my opinion but that's why I want them.

Here is a write up that might be helpful. It echoes my comments about how the wheels look and corroborates several other articles I've seen about comparative weight. https://www.motomillion.com/blogs/motom ... vs-rotobox

Like most special stuff the seller can't advertise a discount price. Here is the price I've been promised for a set of wheels:

For a group order of 3 sets of wheels - $3349 per set shipped
For a group order of 5 sets of wheels - $3319 per set shipped

If you're willing to pay by check, discount the prices above by 2%. You will pay the seller directly although I'd like to get a photocopy (yes you can delete the account number, etc.) of the check you send so I can keep up with the number of orders and also register it as part of the group order. Standard list price for the wheels is $3870 and that doesn't include shipping. So you can see it's a pretty big discount even without considering sales tax. With the recent supreme court ruling the big suppliers are going to have to charge sales tax whereas a small guy can fly under the radar for an out of state sale and not charge tax. So this is a very good deal in my opinion because if you figure the tax and freight savings, I think it's around 25% off. If you want in, PM me.

I emailed Rotobox in Europe and were told the wheels for the SX should be ready about the end of June. I'm not sure how long it will take for the distributor to get them in, but I imagine 2-4 weeks would be about right. Then the seller will have to get them in and ship them to you. If you want in, let me know by Sat July 7 and be ready to write a check or provide the seller with a credit card number by then.

Thanks for your effort. I will stay with stock wheels.

Bump so it will be on the front page until 7/7. Looks like I'm going to be the only one though. The CF wheels make a big big difference in the responsiveness of a bike. I've got both CF wheels and Sicom brakes on my Ninja 1000 ABS/Z1000SX.

I am tempted but I doubt I will have bike long enough to make worth it. I've over 10k KMs done and plan on upgrading (New model with active suspension perhaps?) mid next year.

Would love an update when you make the change.
