Anyone else want a high windscreen besides me?

Post by dehaile » Sat Jun 23, 2018 10:13 pm

Well, this bike is supposed to be a touring bike. I would love to see someone make a very tall windscreen that would flow air over the helmet when sitting straight up. It would be a difficult shape to make. I ride some in the winter time and would love to have it as an option.

Yes I ordered one of those too. I don't think it will be tall enough though.

I got the Powerbronze high/dark tint about 2 weeks ago. Put it on and right away I was not that impressed with the look. Took it out on highway and interstate for a test and it does make a difference but not enough to leave it on. I would like to see a higher screen that would make a significant difference. The screens are easy to change out so a high screen that would work for trips could be installed quickly for longer trips but around town I like my stock screen way better. Might even like the SX version more than my SE.

Someone on here had a post that had basically a windscreen extender that clipped on. I think it was a thread about parts from other bikes that fit the H2 SX.

The screen does a great job blocking the wind when fully tucked in. When I had the bike at the track running 145 mph and couldn't feel any wind. I might try to pick up a shorter screen for 1/2 mile racing.

If you want a taller windscreen on the H2 SX, I think you have bought the wrong bike. The H2 SX is much closer to a sport bike than a touring bike, and if you want an upright position and more wind protection the GTR 1400 (Concours) will be more suitable.

I lowered the windscreen (the sporty tinted one) to get a better look and avoid turbulence. Taller screens normally causes a lot of noise.

Ditto on what Gladius said! Buy a concourse,or a gold wing!, This bike may have cruise control and heated grips, but then it has launch control, and KQS! Touring bike🤔? Really?

OK, is it a sport bike or a sport touring bike? Ask the owner of one and he''ll answer it correctly for you, after all, it is his bike. Actually the argument above that recommended a Concours could easily be"Why didn't you buy an H2 if you want a real sport bike"? No interest in a Concours or GoldWing, too boring too me. You buy it, you mod it the way you want and tour, sport ride, drag race, set records at the Salt Flats, whatever, this is nearly a perfect machine for all of that with some tweeks IMHO. Kawasaki delivered us one hell of a machine.
