Is the Quickshifter a dealer accessory?

Post by bull_dog190 » Mon Jun 04, 2018 9:42 am

Im trying to find out if the Quickshifter system from the SX SE will be available as a dealer add-on/accessory for the SX model.

Anyone know?

Perhaps its a plug and play system like the other accessories?

It looks like the harness is the same for the SX and the SX SE (only difference seem to be California model vs. US/CAN. The parts are on the listing there that you need. I would think all you need is the sensor and the rod-tie, so not crazy expensive.

The sensor on my SE connects to the main harness just below the throttle body on the left side. Pull the fairing on the left and see if there is an open plug.

The SX model uses a different harness with a different part number. Differences between SX and SX SE are enough for separate wiring diagrams in the service manual. Optional equipment (e. g. heated grips) is shown on the SX wiring diagram surrounded by a dashed outline. That does not apply to the quickshifter - the QS and associated wiring are simply not shown.

That fact that the wiring isn't shown doesn't mean for sure that it isn't there but, if everything is as shown on the wiring diagram, you won't find the quickshifter wiring on the H2 SX. If you search for a spare connector don't just look for any spare connector - there are a number of them around the bike used for testing and fault checking. A quickshifter connector will have Green, Green/White, Blue/Yellow wires (very similar to the gear position sensor because they're interconnected).

Good catch Champ. I only went off the diagrams online and didn't look in my manual. It would be sad if they did not wire it at least for the quickshifter.
