Just got back from riding about 2 hours from my dealer in Dallas. I could not have had a better experience both with the bike and the selling dealer. The bike is just awesome with only a few nit picks. So far my complaints (in no particular order) are: small windscreen for a touring bike, very hot area at the bottom of gas tank where your legs grab onto the tank. and the bar reach could be shorter. I am 6.2 with fairly long arms and I need about another inch. Maybe Heli bars will come up with something. Also insurance has proven to be difficult in finding something reasonable for a 49 yo with no tickets or accidents. So far, around 1100.00 a year for basic full coverage. I've tried, state farm (current insurer), progressive, geico, dairyland, merkel. Most are in the 2k range with only Statefarm being reasonable. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know. Family insurance that someone mentioned earlier does not do business in TX.
I ordered the 12v plug and the heated grips. Does anyone know how the grips turn on?
thanks
Picked up my brand new SX (non SE)
Re: Picked up my brand new SX (non SE)
see page 156 of manual.
switch on left bar, 3 settings based on power pulses. one flash = long pulses 20% power, 2 flashes = shorter power pulses 60% power, 3 flashes = fast power pulses 100% power (hottest setting). system remembers your last setting.

Onice I put the grips on, does the dealer have to program the ECU?

My guess is no. there's a plug under the fairing ready to accept it, so the software is probably already in the ECU and just detects when the hardware is plugged in.
