It's amazing how fast you can go when you take your time.
Re: Fairing removal
Thanks for posting, I have downloaded but a quick question, I only need to remove the top panel to feed a GPS cable through, can this be one without the side panel or does it all have to come off.Champ87 wrote: Mon Mar 11, 2019 8:08 pm Instructions in the maintenance manual for fairing removal are quite comprehensive but they seem to jump around a bit from page-to-page. I produced the attached pdf document to pull together the steps required and added some photos to supplement the detailed information provided in the manual. This aid covers complete removal of fairing panels and side covers. First time is a PITA - it gets easier.
Feel free to suggest improvements. If it's easy I'll do it, if it isn't I may suggest you post your own guide.

This panel i was thinking of routing the cables through.

Re: Fairing removal
That will come off without removing the side fairing(s).You may need to remove that panel just to the right there. And maybe remove the tank panel.I think they all connect together there. No big deal.

Re: Fairing removal
No need to remove the whole side fairing. Just remove that textured inner fairing panel, then you can remove the side cover to feed wires through the frame under the tank. See Pages 2 & 6 of the pdf guide.Zoton wrote: Tue Dec 15, 2020 7:43 pm .....a quick question, I only need to remove the top panel to feed a GPS cable through, can this be one without the side panel or does it all have to come off.

Re: Fairing removal
Gave it a go today ,invaluable link thank you, Now sorted, cable routing was a pain in the butt as the garmin cables are too many and thick so couldn't get past the supercharger to tuck em up so wrapped around the frame, loads of clearance when the panels replaced, a couple of hours to do so not that bad to do.
