Agreed.

After closer examination, side-by-side, the four primary tubes are the same diameter, and roughly the same length. The shape is a little different, but look close. There are no cross-over tubes on the ZX10R like the H2 SX. Probably because the mid two-pipe section on the H2 SX is so much shorter than the ZX10R. This "should" improve mid-range power.

I have a new stainless mid-pipe that I will sell for $50 USD plus shipping. It was only used for mock-up, so not even started on the bike. It is 4mm smaller than the Akrapovic, but should work fine. PM me if interested.

How did the akra midpipe fit? Is it just the problem with the angle for the saddlebags? I'm thinking of getting the short Akra slip-on for the 11 ZX-10R and adapt that with the header somehow. Think your stainless midpipe would fit well for that?

I'm completely happy if all this does is drop weight. Any HP gained is just icing on the cake to me. I think the 4-2-1 design of the ZX10R header will be better though than the original though.

This is a fun thread. I just hate the cat. How about the 10R head pipes, a slightly modified Akrapovic mid-pipe, and a much shorter carbon can (my preference), to allow a steeper angle which ends before the bags? I could even have my machinist fab a modified end cap to alter the flow so soot wouldn't build up when the bags are mounted. In my eyes, that would perform well and also look more aesthetically pleasing, particularly when the bags were off.

I'll get my Akra mid pipe in the mail tonight. I'll let you know if the fit is better.

Vcyclenut could be talked into a specific flash for this setup if we get enough commitments. How many are up for a matching flash to take advantage of what i think will be a much better mid-RPM range?

Oh, I'd be all over that for sure! I was planning on using him before, and now that I'm going the ZX-10R header route, I was struggling to figure out what to do about a tune. I'd be happy to put my money up front for it as well as purchase an air filter from him. I'm way too far of a drive to bring my bike down there though, so would need to be a mail-order flash.

Well ............. that is expensive bad news. The Akrapovic titanium mid will not come close to fitting. It hits everywhere and does not exit back correctly. I have an expensive paperweight now. It is time to mod the Delkevic mid to work as it is WAY closer to right. I am looking for a short can that can mate up and not require modding the Delkevic mid.

More work to do .............................

The good news is that Akrapovic is also 2" pipe, so the Delkevic lessen the power that most are getting from the Akra, and is WAY cheaper.

80% done mounting the ZX-10R header and a Titanium/carbon fiber Graves pipe. It's sounding mean! I'll do a bigger write-up soon. Still have a couple things to do.

Looks awesome. I have the 10R header on my porch. Does that Graves can fit right on the 10R header with no mid/S pipe? Any pictures of the whole bike right side? If you have bags, do they clear? What is really great is that it completely exposes the wheel.
